The zinc dust suspended in Noalox is not there to actually improve electrical conductivity. It acts as an abrasive to help cut through corrosion (as the two surfaces meet with friction) in aluminum connections in which it was designed for, so in certain cases it can for a degraded connection. Antioxidents & dielectric compounds don't help improve electrical conductivity, they help prevent corrosion that would reduce conductivity.

Noalox is indeed non-conductive. Take your meters probes and touch 'em together, .03>.04... that's the resistance of the leads. Now stick the probes onto a tub of Noalox... non-conductive. Now touch the probes together, .02 How is that possible? .

Please do tell, what kind of leads are you using that have only .03 resistance?

what do you guys use that do not use noalox?

I use ProGold by Deoxit. Never filed a pin on any of my Reos. YMMV.

Just wanted to add that many of the top mod instructions specifically suggest the use of Noalox on all threads and threaded connections. It is considered mandatory as part of good maintenance.

Some people read and follow the manufactures instructions. Others do not.

I figure if I am going to take a few minutes a week to clean and maintain my mod, I can spend 4 bucks on some Noalox and spend the extra minute applying it.

I just put a dab of Noalox to the button top of my battery when I change it out. My reasoning is I have a 4oz bottle that should be left to someone in my will, (I plan on living a long time too) and having it on the battery top causes the firing pin to be immersed in the Noalox thus stopping any sparking. No arc means there will be little reason to have to file the pin to remove arc or sparking oxidation. I could be wrong if so please tell me.

Would juice on the firing pin do anything because I had another question about the noalox. I never glued the tube onto the metal nipple, I do see juice on the firing pin and under the gasket on the firing pin shaft. Ocasionally I see it on the top of the batter, literally like a bead of sweat nothing more. First... who else glues the tube on? Second would the juice on the firing pin do anything bad. I usually wash it out once a week, its never dripping out but its looks like sweat on the inside up by the nipple.
