So I've been vaping on a noisy cricket on and off for a little while. I've been wondering what everybody does to keep the threads clean? They seem to corrode a little bit, nothing serious.

Also, I get weak hits randomly and if I shake the device it hits normally. I think it's the bottom contact not making the right connection. Anyone got any ideas how to help prevent this.

Currently using an rda at .45 ohms.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Just taking it apart - philips screws at the bottom - and cleaning that contacts too should help! It is also important to screw in the hybrid adaptor with atty and the switch - which should be cleaned also from time to time, taking apart with 3mm hex - firmly to make proper contact! And - i am sure You know that - always first screw the hybrid adaptor and the atty together...then screw that in the mod. But: screw in the switch first!

Best for cleaning/maintaining the threads is NOALOX...imo.

Regular cleans can be done with a paper tower rubbed in the threads. Intermediate cleans can be done by stripping the mod and washing it with dish soap hot water and a tooth brush. Some Noalox in the threads can ...... the build up of electrolytic corrosion.

Yup, regular cleaning will fix this. Take it completely apart and do whatever you need to clean any oxidation from the threads and other mod contact surfaces. Include all surfaces that conduct electricity.

Also, I get weak hits randomly and if I shake the device it hits normally. I think it's the bottom contact not making the right connection. Anyone got any ideas how to help prevent this.

See my comment above :)

Mech mods are great, but they need TLC at regular intervals. Different mods, different interval timing. A little bit of Noalox on mating parts and switch contacts can help, but it's not a cure-all and can actually be detrimental overall to your vape experience. I would experiment with the mod and see what works best over time.
