Non-smoker helping a smoker quit

Hi folks,

posted a while back and the 510 kit should be a the post office today. I am a non (or VERY infrequent) smoker and am going to help my father-in-law quit. I may need to use these things a bit to show him and get things going for him. He hates fiddling with stuff, so I am going to be his tech support :)

Do any other non-smokers have any input on what it's like vaping your first few times when you haven't smoked anything in a good long while? Is it going to be like 'smoking' the first time, when you nearly fall over and cough up a lung? :)

thanks for any input or advice as i get my dad-in-law off the bad-sticks :)

Cheers,
Telemole

oh I agree completely! I already have a coffee and video game addiction... and the odd red bull...

I just know that after i mess around with this stuff getting it all working for him i'll likely enjoy the vapor itself... and I love modding gear etc.. seems like it's all you folks do! I am looking forward to getting it all working well for him, just concerned he's going to find it all a pain... so i want to get all teh grunt work done.

If you are going to practice at it, I hope you purchased some no nicotine carts.

My hubby (RW) is just like you. He and I consider him a non smoker. When I smoked, he'd light one up every once in a while. Now that I don't smoke, he doesn't at all.
He does vape every once in a while though. It’s not something he really enjoys but does to see how the mods he builds for me work.
At first he had trouble with the inhaling, and then the coughing. It took a while but he finally conquered both.

At first, if I was you, I'd practice without inhaling and then go onto slow and easy drags and then inhale.

Sounds look good advice - I am going to have to do all his mods and test them for him in advance.

Really appreciate hearing from people on this - honestly the best forums I have seen in a long time - very supportive people and backed by supportive vendors etc. I fear what will happen when big business realizes this is the future and they can make money...

Well if the big boys fail to realize that this is going to be the new business then it is their loss. E-cigarettes will catch on as more and more people realzie this is a far safer and healthier alternative to smoking cancer sticks. And to be honest I think I'll just keep buying from the suppliers all ready in place. I do not think I could trust someone like Philip Morris to produce an e-cigarette without adding a bunch of weird compounds and chemicals to the e-liquid to get people even more addicted. No thanks!
