You up for rebuilding? Get a CLR head? You can make it whatever you want - I really like them!
omg you're a life saver. I'm a pretty big idiot and afraid to try rebuilds (never have), but I just watched a video, and my god does it look easy to rebuild. CHEAP TOO! I can get an authentic 5 pack of rebuildables for $8 shipped!?

I ordered a Coil Master V3 knockoff here for $8 shipped to help me with rebuilding (shakey hands)

$7.55 Coil Master V3 6-in-1 E-Cigarette Wire Coil Winder - 1.5 + 2 + 2.5 + 3 + 3.5 + 4mm poles at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Any advice for a new coil builder is VERY welcome.

I started rebuilding a couple of years ago - PT2 heads.... Same philosophy. What resistance are you targeting? If you're going to build over an ohm, you could "probably" get away with using your mod to check your build, but you should consider a dedicated ohmmeter. Plus, it can give you somewhat of a platform on which to build without juggling everything....

Leave the mandrel in place while setting the coil - less likely to deform the coil until the insulator and contact pin have been reset. I use a wisp of a cotton ball to wick.

Wire can be had inexpensively from LightningVapes (if you're in the US). I like 28 or 30g in the CLR heads. I've also done a couple with 28g SS316 wire. Much lower resistance than Kanthal.

Steam-engine.org is your friend. There's a calculator in there to help you dial in on a particular build. Make sure to figure in leg length (I use about 20-30mm as an approximation on my +1Ω builds.) If I'm wrapping 30g kanthal around a 1/16" drill bit (just shy of the 1.5mm mandrel) About 7 wraps lands about 1.5Ω for me.

Vape on! :vapor:
