Just received my new grand today (thanks Rob) but none of attys will fire.

I tried a cartomizer and it fires with no problem. So I know that the battery is good and the switch works.

Based on the cartomizer firing I believe that attys connection is not touching the battery connection at the bottom of the catch cup.

I have tried 5 different atty , all 510 and 510 LR and none will fire :(

The attys are all original joye 510 and front 3 different vendors. All attys work on my eGO and other mods that I have.

Is it possible to turn the post at the bottom of the catch cup using a screw driver to raise it a little so its not so depressed?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks....

I have noticed that not all thread depths are created equal, especially a 510. Some of the PV's out there are about a .1 mm deeper and that means that it will not touch the bottom post.

I have also received some newer attys that appear to be about a .1 mm longer. These will work in all PV's altough you might see a slight space between the ring of the atty and connector.

On 510's you can pull out the center post of the atty with a small, sharp tool like a jewler's screwdriver. There is no way that I know of to mess with the post of the PV.

Short term, you might want to put a tad of solder on the post of your device.

I agree. It's a tad different, but a very good vape from a carto. But you know you're vaping from a carto.

Carto haters will hate these cartos too, I think. :p

Thanks for the advice.

I pulled the pin on my regular 510 Atty and it fired, after a few hits it stopped again.

There is a silicone seal around the pin and I think it pulls the pin (stretches it) back in.

I sure hope there is another solution....

I have some 306 attys coming next week and it would suck if they exhibit the same problem.

What batteries are you using?
Something similar has happened to me with the GGT. I noticed that with some attys, the batteries went into protection.
Putting batteries unprotected the attys returning to work.
In my case, therefore, the problem was the protection circuit of certain batteries, which did not tolerate the resistance of some attys (even of different brands and models).

ufo brings up a good point, are you using the AW IMR batteries?

Don't believe its the batts because cartomizers fire just fine and if I pull the pin out just a tad from any of my attys they fire just fine.

The weird thing is that the attys screw on really, really tight. I thought that the atty was not touching the post and that is why it did not fire so I kept screwing it on.

I needed pliers to unscrew it back.

Rob said he has seen this before once or twice and believes that the thread on the mod may be "screwed" up.

I am using the black AW IC 2900mAh batts.

So here is another update.

I took some attys that have NEVER been used on other PVs before and screwed it on to the reo and guess what? Fires right up.

I tried 4 others that have never been used either and they all fire up with no problems.

Talked to Rob about this and he says he seen this before and that the brass on the atty is really soft and when it gets got it can form the shape of the other just enough to it might not work on other mods.

I guess I am not sending it back after all cause it all works now.

So you just got your reo and are using an atty that has been used on other PVs and are having problems with firing or the atty screws on really tight, a new atty should solve your problem.

Again, thanks to all who helped out with their comments and suggestions.

Happy as can be :)

The only thing worse than not getting one in the sale would be getting one and not being able to use it! That would be double torture. Glad you got it figured out! Happy vaping. I hope you've lowered your nic level for these first couple of days or you really WILL be in a coma. They're impossible to put down!

I agree, if I had to send it back it would have been torture.

I lowered my nic level a while back to 12mg so I am good I think. Still, I cant put it down ;)
