My theory is that some of us never lose the instinct to suckle. Thumb suckers, nail biters, soda straws, beer bottles, cigs, pipes, cigars, food addicts. There are other reasons for some of that behavior and some people stop. Smokers start for the action and end up with the addiction.

I've started calling my device my pacifier.

Sometimes a chrome phallic nicotine dispensing device is just a chrome phallic nicotine dispensing device.

Curious to see how many people, like me, found vaping, yet didn't start off as smokers.

What do you like about zero nic vaping?

Whilst I'm an ex-smoker, the lady who works at my local vape shop was a none-smoker who decided to start vaping. She recommended me my MVP :)

So why did you decide you wanted to vape?

I'm a ex-smoker but I wouldn't even consider my vape a smoking cessation device anymore.. Because not only is it far far far less harmful for me, but I discovered I actually love doing it (unlike smoking), so it's become kinda a hobby.
Speaking hypothetically, if suddenly a discovery was made that showed vaping was more harmful than smoking (highly unlikely) I'd have a hard time going back to cigarettes.. and it wouldn't be anywhere near as much fun either..

I'm beginning to believe we are going to see a lot more of this as time passes. Vaping really is a delicious experience and speaking to my own experience I can say that my vaping has really curbed my need for sweets. I've got a raging sweet tooth. So this has been one very nice side affect of vaping for me.

As for the implications, I haven't decided what to think of it yet. If it's an adult, 18 or over, doing it for the pure enjoyment part of me says go for it. Another part of me gets nervous about what this may mean as far as what the ANTZ may do with it. And yet another part of me thinks this is so very interesting. Could vaping be proven to be an affective tool in dieting in the near future? I don't see why not, if it works then it just works.

I can see that. My 44 year old sis in law still sucks her thumb when she sleeps.

The pacifier term is good, lol, my wife calls my mod my "binky" because I carry it from room to room, and rarely set it down. :)

Something that isn't mentioned at all by ANTZ is the number of people who start vaping who would otherwise start smoking. I don't have a problem with that at all.

Interestingly, when we were all scrapping at the yearly legislative session to fight off the annual "ban e-cigs/think of the children/tax it at 95% etc ad nauseum", the legislators actually stated that they were especially interested by diabetic testimonies finding vaping to be a very helpful way to allay the sweet tooth. And I do think that helped keep vaping in Hawaii acceptable (for this year at least).

So vape on!
