Noob DIY Questions

I am extremely new to PV but I have my reasons to start DIY juice.

My question is regarding nic%:

If I want a 5mg product, and I am using 100mg nic, wouldn't I need one drop of nic per 20 drops total product since 5 is 1/20 of 100?

A more accurate way would be to use a graduated Cylinder. add 2.5mls of 100mg/ml nic then your PG/VG (whatever ratio yu are shooting for). I use 80/20 so:

2.5 mls nic
37.5 mls pg
10 mls vg

That would provide 50mls of 80/20 @ 5mg/ml

Tybin is correct. Handle 100mg/ml with care. I use it often but take the same precautions you would if handling a strong acid. Gloves, eye protection, clean work area, etc.

Drop count is ballpark. Drop sizes vary by dropper, viscosity, temp, etc. If you want to do small batches at least grab a pipette that has ml graduations on it.

Correct and another rule of thumb. PG = more throat hit, VG = bigger vapor. That is why I have found 80/20 to be my sweet spot

Better not to use drops for 100mg nic, especially when aiming at 5mg. You can get 1mL dosing syringes for cheap and they'll give accurate enough measurements. I got a few from my veterinarian.

Recommend putting clear plasic packaging tape over the outside of the syringe to prevent the markings from dissolving away.

OK I just placed my first order for DIY supplies. I went with 24mg nic. The 100mg in the OP was really just to help me understand the math.

I plan going mainly with a low dose mix of 4mg and keep a small amout of medium-low mix of 12mg if I feel I need the nicotine.

Still need to order flavor. Looking for plain, quality flavors like coffee, root beer, and blueberry. Not interested in menthol or tobacco at this time. Any suggestions?
