I am a noob to vaping (yesterday). I got a Vapor King and so far I really like it. I only had 4 Benson & Hedges today and they didn't taste that good. I have a couple packs of non FSC's left but don't know if I will even smoke them. FSC's made me jump into vaping!!! Thank you (whoever made the law) for making cigarettes taste horrible, I am quitting! These different flavors are great and refreshing, I can't put my VK down.

Thanks Snarkyone for this very useful information.
As this is my first time buying an E-Cigarette, I am going to go for the m401 as this looks very colse to what a real cigarette looks like and for me the appearance is quite important as i feel this will help me kick the real thing. I also like most of the reviews i've seen on it.

Hi, thanks for the info, although i'm not sure if the ecigg i have bought has been reviewed or not, i don't know if it has a serial number as such, i just know its called a MILANO' i researched online in uk & found this was number 1 in the top 3.
If it does have a serial number that you know of, please could you tell me so i can read the proper review of it.
Thanks so much

I have been reading this site for a couple of weeks researching the purchase of my first ecigarette. I have just ordered a 510 from ecigarettemart.com

As a newbee, one thing that was confusing was the naming of the different models. I think it could be clarified in this help guide that there are only a handful of actual models available, all made in China. I know you state the basic models, but I first thought these were the names used for a specific area this website supported (ex. in the UK). I have since researched and realized that these are the generic model numbers for all of the ecigarettes and that even if you buy an ecigerette from a company outside China, that has a name versus model number, it is just one of these basic models repackaged and renamed for that individual company.

Maybe I am slow, but I have heard others mention the ecigarette they purchased by a name vs a model number. I had to go research the model numbers I found here, find the manufacturers websites, and see that they would repackage the kits with the company's branding to realize this.

I would assume this is due to the fact that ecigarettes are a new technology and patented and only a handful of manufacturers are licensed to produce them.

I need to insert a note here that this is a very old thread - what we call a zombie thread - and someone brought it back to life. Some of the info is way out of date, it was good when the thread started but is wrong now. The general advice is still good but the hardware mentioned is old-fashioned.

Any new buyers guide now has to mention the eGo / Tornado / Leo and similar 'large-format' models, and probably as the #1 choice, as long as you don't need one that looks exactly like a cigarette - in which case a 510 or KR8 in white might be best, and as long as you know you'll need to carry a ton of backups going out the door, and as long as you realise it will set you up for a ton of hassle with people complaining you're smoking indoors. I think they are a bad choice, an eGo or similar wins out now, and with the small 650mAh battery it's still small.

The battery life of the mini format models like 510, 401, 901, and 901 is terrible (max 2 hours intermittent use), and for a day out you have to take 4 or 5 batteries and/or a PCC. Penstyles like the 801 are slightly better but I don't see anyone advising that as a first buy when you can get a Leo on the 801 system that is many times better.

Actually we don't have a good, up-to-date new buyers guide that features the large format models as the best choice - and we need one. As stated the general advice in this thread is OK but the hardware recommendations are RIP now.
