Why do folks keep e-cigs they don't use?

You know, for me ... another piece of the puzzle is that you just never know what you might find a need for someday. I'm always afraid that as soon as I get rid of something, I suddenly have a need for it. A theory supported by finding a need/use for something you basically forgot you even have. Happens all the time in my world.

I wouldn't want anyone to use my first e-cig. It was a very poor choice. Thankfully, I found ECF and was able to make better choices in the future. My first cig was from njoy.

Actually if you made a NicoStick or some other mod and used the atty from the njoy on it, it does a decent good job. Something to think about so there's something to use on a rainy day.

I've kept all of the ecigs I don't use in case of a ban. I might have to use them all before the ability to purchase is available again.

That's why I've kept all the eliquid I purchased, even if I don't particularly care for the flavor. I have enough Lorann's flavoring to fix it up enough to vape in case of emergency.

I'm waiting for the FDA decision then I'll figure out what to do with liquids I don't like, auto batteries I don't use and such. The idea that it all could go haywire makes me hoard my stuff. Ha.

Exactly the reason you should try to "convert" a smoker who is handy with a soldering iron, and has a shop. I'm working on my diesel mechanic now. He smokes 4 (4!) packs a day. I gave him my old NPro set-up with extra batteries, cartridges, etc. I've shown him some mods. I've mentioned how you can make your own for just a few bucks. I think my evil plan is starting to come together...

Hell, even if he doesn't start building box mods, I worry about a guy who smokes 4 freakin' packs a day.

I wouldn't want anyone to use my first e-cig. It was a very poor choice. Thankfully, I found ECF and was able to make better choices in the future. My first cig was from njoy. Next was a 901, then a 510, and now a joye stick. ECF is a great place to learn before you make a mistake. There is a wealth of knowledge here, experience, and just plain old common sense. I salute all the members of ECF and thanks for so much help.

So I find your post curious, I went from 901 to 510 and actually like my 510 better. I have decided I'm not chasing a bunch of model #s that are promising to be better than the last but I am curious what is a joye stick?

I wouldn't be an vape-head if Canute hadn't given me his old one ( a Smoke Everywhere). Got it from him last Saturday, ordered a 510 kit from Cignot on Sunday. Hardest part about the whole thing was waiting for shipping. Got the kit Wednesday, only had 3 analogs since! Gotta see which friend will take the Smoke Everywhere next!

Various reasons that I never really thought about until you asked:
  • Something to fall back on, if I run out of attys for my favorites (penstyle and 510, so far). That's happened twice to me already (and I learned that I now hate the taste of analogs).
  • Something to give or lend to acquaintances to try out.
  • Sentimental value.
  • You never know. For example, the KR808D-1 was my first PV. Never particularly cared for it, but I've recently found that I like GreenCig carts on the couple KR808D-1 batteries I have left. And maybe I'll find that my KR808D-1 carts taste great on some mod.

Wow. Yeah not often you run into people who go through that much. I used to smoke 3 packs a day of Camel non filtered years ago but never hit 4.

Yeah, I was at 3 packs of Kool filter kings, but 4! Yikes.

[...] Gotta see which friend will take the Smoke Everywhere next!

Awesome! That's what I'm talking about.

I like to keep other models, well first, because I only have three right now, 510, 801, 901. While I use the 901 the most and it is my fav, I do like to compare sometimes for flavor and whatnot. But I do use the 801 occasionally as well. The 510 usually sits there.

But I do like to keep them all, just in case I run out of stuff for one, or the bats break or the atomiser, ect...

It is always good to have other models as well. Sometimes I like the variety, or if I am going out for a while I would rather take the 801 than the 901 for the longer bat life and cart life...

In general though, I just like to collect things.

ecigs are like anabolic steroids. Mostly harmless IMO. [...].

Oh, no! Any substance that I don't use must be terribly dangerous, and outlawed immediately! :D

Im like most of the others, have given away alot, kept alot. Ive stuck with what I started on, the 510 and do try other attys and now use only mods. Ive given away all but 2 stock batts and keep those for those situations where a mod just wouldnt be PC to use, which is not many situations. Although I use 510, Ive given away handfuls of attys as well. I like to help when one is in need but now with that FDA stuff getting more n more pressing, Ive started telling people where to get it instead of just handing it out. Besides, moneys getting tight -its the holiday season! I love my stash and even tho I have several mods, I do rotate them and just HAVE to ise them ALL every day!!!! Yes, Im like an OCD freak...I cannot go to bed at nite wout vaping them ALL!!! HAHA! Im sooo serious, too! :)

Hey guys brand new here to the forums, just started vaping about a week ago, bought from a local shop here in Richmond Va and made the rookie mistake of buying the one that looked more like a cigarette even though I was a two pack a day smoker.Went 4 days without a cig and BAM one of my batteries malfunctioned...I can charge it but when I try and use it it starts blinking so im down to one battery that just isnt cutting it with my long work schedule. If anyone has any spares lying around that they dont want anymore, I'd be happy to take em off your hands until I can afford to get something nicer like a 501...thanks....R
