Haven't tried any tanks since the original Protank, so I can't help you compare there really.

The RSST does have a large amount of airspace under the top cap, and this more than likely does hinder the flavor a bit. Like others have said, you can by aftermarket top caps or chamber reducers for the RSST but then you are getting up there in price a bit (close to the price of a real DID).

All of that being said, the flavor on the RSST doesn't lag far behind others I've tried, it's just a bit different.

The difficult part about a gennie with a small chamber is that often times everything ends up very close together under the top cap and it can be frustrating getting the wick and coil working together correctly.

I say give the RSST a try if you want to try out a mesh wick in a genesis style atty, then invest in a more expensive reduced chamber atty later if you find you like working with mesh etc.

Nothing wrong with the older, bigger style caps. Just a different vape. Some might actually prefer it. I prefer something in the middle, between the tiny Sat-sized chambers and the Aga T2 sized ones.

To me, the minuscule chambers give a too moist/damp vapor at my desired evaporation rates/air flow. Not unpleasant, just different. I see how this sensation is exactly what some people want. Or how others build differently and don't get this result at all. Just a matter of personal preference. And personal build styles.

The best atty will always be (I think) the one that matches your preferred build style to your preferred end result. You can tweak build styles to make any atty closer to your desired end result. But why not settle for an atty that gives me what I want when I do what I do?
