Noob help request

Grr... I just typed a much longer version of this and lost it on submission... on to a short version of my problem

And Hello, I'm not normally this grumpy!

Brand new to vaping - just bought all of my hardware and DIY juice stuff.

All of the base and nic I got is 50\50. (quite a bit of it)

Due to a shipping delay on my DIY\juice order (ecigexpress.com - not a CS problem, they shipped it right away. Just a site glitch -something weird happened during my registration and my shipping STATE was changed to Alabama but the rest of it was correct) I figured out that I may not care for VG too much.

I bought a 10ml juice from a shop down the road to last until my shipment gets here... realized it wouldn't last so I decided to add some VG(99.5 USP). I knew this would change the flavor concentration - no biggie.

Problem is that there is a taste there now I dont care for(plastic-y maybe?) and the vapor now feels 'heavy' - I dont know how to describe that better.

Any advice?

I know what you mean when you say 'heavy'. (I say 'thick', same difference.) That's due to the higher proportion of VG you're now using. Many people like that, along with the generally better vapor production you'll have with higher VG juices.

Don't know what to tell you about the 'plastic-y' taste.

I dunno. I am vaping a mostly VG juice right now and am enjoying it (Cinnamon Danish Cherry Tobacco DIY). Yes, VG will make the vapor "heavier" and sweeter but I don't get a plastic taste from it. Anyway, you'll just have to experiment when your stuff arrives, but I doubt you'll care for a 100% PG e liquid either.

So a very basic explanation goes like this: PG carries flavor very well; while being a bit harsher on the the throat and thinner on the vape production. VG is pretty much the opposite. Adding straight VG to a pre-mixed bottle of e-j is going to diminish the flavor considerably, and when too much is added, you're not going to taste much of anything. So the "plastic-y" taste you're getting is probably the extremely muted flavor profile of your juice. DIY is not for the faint of heart.

Welcome to ECF, MAD! Nice to see a semi-local person here. I'm from the Rough River area, I was just in Etown today. Did you get your juice at Simply Vapors? Their juice is already a 70/30 vg/pg mix so adding more vg will make it REALLY high vg.

I vape a 70/30 vg/h2o mix and yes the higher vg levels do make for a "heavier" vape but I can't vape pg as it irritates my throat.

Where did you get your vg that you mixed in? Make sure that it is ok to use in vaping.

Well, hopefully my DIY shipment will get here soon - the VG vanilla experiment was because I was running out quickly and I don't want to pay $9 for 10ml.... Thanks for the advice
