Noob Help?

Just started mixing yesterday 60/40 pg/vg 12mg nic and 5% 7 leaves came out great so I decided to try a 90/10 and also a 10/90 pg/vg, same amount of vapor and same throat hit on both, I thought the more pg made more throat hit? They seem exactly the same to me, could steep time change that? tks for help.
