Hello, I am new to ecigs, bought my first joye 510 kit from cignot a few days ago and have learned quite a bit from the forums, but am looking for specific answers, and this forum is so HUGE it is sometimes harder to sort through all the info then to just post.

I am looking for answers to my questions mostly that e cig will last longest, but the most cost efficient way to do that. And a couple terms or products I am not familiar with.

So 1st question, filling ur own carts, prefilled cartomizer, or pre-filled carts? Which would be the most cost efficient for the amount of smoking time they give?

2), megacartos, megaattys, megabatteries. Obviously these are bigger versions of each which I assume allows longer smoke before changing, but how much longer? & is it worth investing in one or all of them?

3) Low resistance atomizer: what are these & how are they different from std attys?

4) Cartridge finished or battery finished?
How do you know whether it is ur cartridge that is empty or ur battery if both of them make tecig stop producing vapor. I am having trouble gauging when cart is empty, how wet will it still be. Or is it empty when it is bone dry? Noob mistake I burned out one of my attys already & I'm not sure exactly what thing I did that burned it out b/c it was still making plenty of vapor, it just tasted kinda "burnt" instead of the pleasant flavor I got when I first got it. Tried rinsing it & letting dry overnight, pulling the wick out like the guide on the forum suggests, it no longer "crackles" to indicate it is heating up when I press the button, so I just tossed it.

5) Also, I got the marlboro high 18mg carts w/ my kit (I think they have a PEG base not sure, they are from cignot.com) , & vaping seems to give me a headache, tried eating, drinking, stopping for a day as suggested on here for headaches, but regardless as soon as I pick it up again & take a few puffs, the headache is back. Do chemical-sensitive people tend to do better w/ VG? how does it differ from PG or PEG in terms of performance, or does it

TIA for any answers you can give!

Are you asking about the slim 510? You cannot use LR anything on slim 510

And what do you mean "last the longest"? If you mean the charge then you need to buy something other than a 510, like a fat battery Riva 510 or Ego model with 650-1300mah battery charge

1. Prefilled is only a small convenience and not even that if you don't like what is in them. Carts suck.

2. Mega xl batteries for 510 are nice - in manual of course. IMO not worth buying batteries in auto if you want them to last.
Mega carts and mega attys are not worth it because carts suck
Mega cartomizers - never tried them. I especially have never tried the Joyetech ones nor any others that need a syringe to fill (i.e. all of the reservoir non-stuffing cartos). Maybe someone else will know if they are worth it. All I know is I want good cartomizers and I am happy with Boge.

3. LR attys/cartos are lower ohms, hotter, use battery charge faster and you cannot use them on slim 510 (only on fat battery models and mods w/ 450mah+ batteries)

4. The battery flashes near the end of its charge. And if you miss that, when it is totally dead it will not light. If the cart is empty and battery alive then the atomizer will get extra hot or you will get burnt taste

5, My guess is you have a nicotine headache and/or are using automatic batteries (some people get a muscle-type headache from sucking on autos). Try lower nicotine. And since you are using carts you may be getting liquid on your hands sometimes - wash it off - it can add to how much nicotine is in you.

The capacity of a battery (how long it will last) is measured in mAh (milliamps per hour.) A 280mAh battery will last approximately 3 hours, give or take, depending on how you use it. Like dormouse said, LR atties shouldn't be used with anything less then 450mAh.

On the slim type batteries (510, KR808D-1) the light at the end of the battery flashes when it nears the end of its charge. eGo, Riva, mods do not do this. When they won't fire, they need to be recharged.

Prefilled anything just sucks IMO. Fill them and refill them yourself and it will be much cheaper in the long run. It really doesn't take that long and it isn't hard to do.

thanks for the info...what I meant my "last longer" is the nicotine itself...as it is now I finish my ejuice cart long before battery dies out (I bought one standard batt and one auto and yes the standard is better like everyone says)..I mean the joye manual says a new batt will last 200 to 250 puffs...I don't think a cartrdige lasts anywhere near that long....(in fact that is probably how I fried my atty I was really tired and misread the manual as saying the carts lasted 200-250 puffs not the batt haha! So I smoked a single prefilled cart for nearly 2 days straight...I was never close to a pack a day smoker so I maybe took 30-40 (what is that like 4-6 analogs depending on how you drag?) puffs on it each day, then I looked at the manual and realized I misread it).

I also didnt pre-drip the atty cuz I didnt have any straight e-juice (ordered some yesterday w/ a syringe and some empty carts) so maybe the primer on that atty had dried up b4 it even got to me...(I know primer tastes gross but I didn't have any ejuice and wanted to try it as soon as I got it so didn't rinse it-bad bad bad lol- but I never really tasted the primer anyway...just sweet marlboro juice :) )

thanks for the info on the LR attys dormouse...I only have standard batts at the moment....also I think maybe you are right about the too much nicotine thing....when I smoked analogs I just barely smoked a pack a WEEK sometimes lights, sometimes full flavor...so I was probably getting like 20mg nicotine total per week which I just about what is in one cart. The ejuice I ordered was 12mg..we will see how that goes...I may need to go to baby strength haha...and yes I have been getting the juice on my fingers....I wash my hands but not before taking several whiffs...(yes I like the smell of it) I never thought that would be contributing to my intake but makes total sense now duh....(sometimes I wonder if my brain takes a vacation on me ha)

thanks will try your suggestions, don't know if I'm gonna end up becoming a permanent e-smoker, but I know it is a learning curve so i am willing to give it more time...

one more thing...are the empty carts really completely empty or do they come with the cotton thing in them already? (obviously dry)

Glad you ordered juice...it's much cheaper to add juice to your cart yourself and it's super easy. Whenever you vapor starts seeming low or tastes a little burnt add a few drops for liquid to your cart. Don't add so much that you have a puddle, just enough that it looks slushy on top. Sometimes using a toothpick or safety pin to hold the stuffing aside will allow you to drip more juice in. On the other hand you can use an empty cartridge or a drip tip and just drip 2-3 drops directly on the atty (if you are using the manual battery). Dripping usually tastes better and gives better vapor, but is often not convenient.

I've moved on to a bottom feeder because I liked dripping but didn't like the inconvenience of it. Now I just fill the bottle every other day and use batteries that last me about 24 hours. These mods are a bit expensive, but they are something you may want to look into as you get farther into vaping and save some of the money you would have spent on cigarettes to invest in a good mod.

Good luck in your vaping journey and keep asking questions, we don't mind answering them :).

Yea, it sounds like you got a little too much nicotine with the 24mg cartridge.
11-12 mg sounds like where you want to be. (you usually want to go up a level, so 24 mg if you're a full smoker, 12 if you're a light, less if you're an ultra light)
So are you using cartridge's with a separate atomizer or a cartomizer that is 1 piece instead of 2.
Cartomizers are more convenient imo and easily refillable. They have the atomizer built into them.
One carto may not last you all day though, so bring more than one. They're nice because you can switch flavors easily too.
You'll know when they need to be refilled when you start loosing flavor or get a slightly burnt taste, just switch to another one.

So 1st question, filling ur own carts, prefilled cartomizer, or pre-filled carts? Which would be the most cost efficient for the amount of smoking time they give? I fill my own cartomizers and buy the ce2 r4's for my 510. I also make my own diy juice. I also use the 510 t -tanks and smart carts on my 5102), megacartos, megaattys, megabatteries. Obviously these are bigger versions of each which I assume allows longer smoke before changing, but how much longer? & is it worth investing in one or all of them? I looked at them once but never bothered with them, cuz you can not use the mega's in a standard 510 pcc. I just bought 6 510 batts instead so I have no problems recharging and always have somthing to vape from. I also got the car charger for my 510 passthrough so I don't have to vape off my batts while driving.
3) Low resistance atomizer: what are these & how are they different from std attys? You can't use them on your 510 as the LR's will burn out the battery very fast. Too much resistance on them. They work better on Ego's. I did try one out, and then wrote the forum and everyone said don't use it. and I see why, my 510 battery caused the lr atty to get so hot it almost burnt everything out.4) Cartridge finished or battery finished?
How do you know whether it is ur cartridge that is empty or ur battery if both of them make tecig stop producing vapor. I am having trouble gauging when cart is empty, how wet will it still be. Or is it empty when it is bone dry? Tried rinsing it & letting dry overnight, pulling the wick out like the guide on the forum suggests, it no longer "crackles" to indicate it is heating up when I press the button, so I just tossed it. It will blink, the battery, and also you won't get any vapor and will get a burnt taste if there is no juice in the carto. If your atty is not crackling, it needs a good cleaning. You can soak your atties in 99 percent iso alcohol you can buy usually from a shoppers drugmart. Soak for a few minutes swishing the atty around in it, and even drip it through the atty until you don't see drops come out the other end but a nice stream. Then rinse under hot water then dry burn, holding down the manual button for 5 seconds and watching vape come out, blow on it, do it again over and over till you see the atty turn red.5) Also, I got the marlboro high 18mg carts w/ my kit (I think they have a PEG base not sure, they are from cignot.com) , & vaping seems to give me a headache, tried eating, drinking, stopping for a day as suggested on here for headaches, but regardless as soon as I pick it up again & take a few puffs, the headache is back. Do chemical-sensitive people tend to do better w/ VG? how does it differ from PG or PEG in terms of performance, or does it Get only pg or vg, some react to pg so get a higher content vg if that works. I vape a 73pg 27 vg mix. PEG is somthing I have never heard of nor do I think it is safe.TIA for any answers you can give!

Everything I wrote to you is underlined and in burgandy

Yeah its normal - a good atty sounds like the candy POP ROCKS when it sizzles its Good - if it gurgles you need to blow it out cos its flooded

above was a post last year by captjay...it says he is an ECF veteran...that is why I thought the atty cracking was a good thing

thanks for all the info....I think I will keep the empty carts and ejuice w/ syringe & fill the carts, but I also think I will try the carto, and filling that too, I like the idea of being able to switch flavors quick, or if I run out just slapping one I've already filled in there.

what is a smart cart? how is it different from a plain cart? and what is the diff between the T-tank atomizers & carts vs. the reg ones? and yes keng I got the 12mg I think it was the orange julius flavor from gourmetvapor and I got the filling accessories from vapor kings because they were the only place I have found so far that has reasonable shipping at $2.95

thanks for helping out a newb!

I suggest you get an Ego, Go-Go, or Echo starter kit and refill your atomizers or cartomizers with your choice of e-liquid. Buy smaller amounts of e-liquid (such as 10ML) at first to see what you like then you can order larger amounts such as 30ML when you find a flavor that you really like. Go with a 70/30 (70% VG and 30% PG) e-liquid mix sold by Backwoodsbrew.net or other suppliers. I personally use cartomizers mostly (but still use atomizers occasionally). You should experiment with both to see what you prefer. Good luck and stay with it, there is a little bit of a learning curve to this whole thing but once you educate yourself and experience whats out there for yourself I'm sure you will be very satisfied with them.... Happy Vaping!!!

Wow no love for the KR 808 ?! Were you a smoker before ? Im somewhat new myself and I know it can be overwhelming. Vaporforlife is definately my top pick. Such a simple system and a great community.Buy prefilled or blank cartomizers and refill with juice. Its that easy! Youll know when a KR 808 Dies because the light flashes. With cartomizers there is no atty to worry about but if it tastes burnt your cart is empty .... youll know. Also look at the "Rio" Models I should have started with that. It looks funny they have been reffered to as "Juiceboxes". Youll see why :) Imagine a "Juicy juice" box with a straw. The contents of the box are your juice ! And the straw has the atomizer in it. It's cool but funny looking. Enjoy everyone is here to help you :D

A lot of people are susceptible to headaches when vaping PG. Normally, switching to VG eliminates any problems with headaches. No significant difference in performance that I have found.

far as the mega cartos madvapes sells a mega that you do not need syringe for. I've been using them for a few weeks now. I refill once a day very convenient for me.

My advice (for what it's worth) is to try cartomizers. Joogler Juice has them for 5/$7 with some free juice (and other discounts). This will let you exchange flavors fast, and they should last about as long as your battery.
Cartomizers
Of course he is out right now, but any standard Boge cartomizer will work great for you.

LitecigsUSA has a good price on boges right now. They're 7.95 a pack.
