Hello EFC members. I am new to the whole vaping scene I've been vamping for about a week now so I am extremely new to it all. I have been doing a lot of research on the subject for the last few months now so I think that I am starting to figure a few things out but there is still a lot for me to learn. I know this as well as you do. I am currently using a lava tube with a 1.5 ohm dual coil cartomizer it's nice but I am wanting vape at a higher volt and I know now that the dual carto isn't the best for that with the lava tube. I know that if I switch to a single coil with a higher ohm I can vape higher volts. But not completely sure on what I should switch to there are so many different variants in cartos but not sure what's best for me. I haven't really gotten into dripping yet and I know a lot of vapers enjoy using attys but I'm trying to stick with one style for a bit to learn a few things about it before I move from cartos.
Another thing that seems to be overwhelming to me is shopping for juices. I currently have 3 and 2 more on the way but I know that eventually I'm going to need more but every time I start to look it just loses me in all the different flavors and brands so if you have any good flavors or brands I would be much obliged.
Also any tips or tricks that you could offer me would be a great help. Such thing like you wish you knew when you first started vaping.
Any help through these "noob" day would greatly be appreciated
Thanks for reading and I am looking forward to hearing from all of you out there.

Hi ghurch. Welcome to ECF.
Your lava tube is an ok device. You don't need to change it yet. Just get some 1.7 ohm single coil Smoketech cartomizers. You'll find that the ohms of the cartomizers with your battery will give you a much better vape.
As for juice, I recommend 24 mg nicotine to start. Try a 50/50 pg/vg ratio & get a sample pack from an ECF authorized vendor.
Good luck my friend. Keep coming back. We like to know how our noobs are getting on.

Hi Ghutch and welcome to ECF. I know how overwhelming all the choices can be for a newbie! You've come to the right place to ask questions.

Looks like you have the carto issue sorted out for now.

When it comes to juices, all I can tell you is that there are no 'correct' choices. What I did when I started was to order a bunch of different flavors in small sizes to try. I think a good selection would be flavors including a tobacco, a fruit, a mint and a drink flavor. Everyone's tastes are different, so it really would not matter if I told you what I like - you might hate those. Also, think about what you really like to eat. If you hate mint, don't get that. If you like absynthe, try that. You can probably find any flavor you can think of somewhere.

As far as nicotine, I smoked a pack a day and found that 18 mg did it for me when I started. I am now down to 6 mg in all my flavors except a tobacco flavor I keep on hand for those cravings at 14 mg. Between PG and VG I second what Bullette said. I started with 70/30 and find I am vaping 50/50 now. From what I've read, people are also more likely to have issues with PG rather than VG. Let us know how it goes!

I second the "sampler" suggestion. It was something that I tried on my own and was glad I did. Your Boge 2.0 cartos are an excellent "base" from which to start from. Good performance, and not too expensive.

Now I know in your OP you didn't want to get into atomizers, but I offer this for thought: If you pick up some samplers, I would consider picking up an atty or two. Maybe one LR and one SR, along with a drip tip. I'd let others suggest a decent value brand, would keep a 510 connection to start. The main reason to pick up some attys is to try out all of your sample juices without the need to dedicate a carto to one particular flavor. You will taste more of the flavor itself thru an atty, cartos tend to muddle the flavor slightly.

I am not a dripper full time, but I always have some kind of 501/306 atty+drip at the ready to sample some juice, or when I am testing my own DIY recipes. Most decent attys can be had for less than $10 each, which isn't as cheap as cartos, but will last longer (especially if used infrequently) than your Boge.

Good luck, have fun!
