OK, so I'm new to modding and PVs in general. In fact I only have one - SD MK2 so I don't want to take it apart to see how it works, but they don't seem all that complex to build. I've seen the flashlight mod vids and I was wondering what would I need to build a very bare bones hardware store mod. I literally mean, if I were to get some pipe and end cap fittings, what would I need for wiring and hardware to have glorious vaping? Are there any schematics, or wiring diagrams? Or is this literally as simple as I think it is - battery, switch, resistor, atty connector, optional LEDs?

I really don't understand the purpose of using the circuit board in the magnum video. It doesn't seem to actually offer anything that simple wiring couldn't achieve on it's own. Or am I REALLY over simplifying things here?

If i worked this right, a basic wiring schematic should be attached for a PV with an LED.

LED should turn on when kill switch is in the On Position. Atomizer wont turn on unless kill switch is in the On position and you have a second switch in the On position. Most mods i see have a sliding switch for the kill switch, and a button to get juice to the atty.

And nope, youre not over simplifying things. Of course, there are many do dads you can add to the circuit. But, if your just after making one that will work, and has an LED so you know the batteries arent dead, here you go!

Funny thing is rocketman, I was thinking of getting a hold of some dummy training grenades from the army surplus shop here and try to mod them out. I know that I would get some odd looks, but I'm game for it. There's actually a few things that I wanted to try and mod, thats why I was asking: an old 80s style mobile phone, a glasses case that can hold my juice and attys while I vape it, I'm even thinking about modding one of those foam dome hats (the one that holds a beer on either side of your head). We'll see what I come up with.

Anyone ever actually try and mod a can before? I realize that the size would require some custom battery holders and perhaps some reinforcement of the walls of the can, but I think it would be hilarious to vape.

I like the idea about the dummy grenade, bet they would sell like hotcakes.

From what I read from the spec sheets on batteries, it seems like the 3.7v 18650 - 3000mah protected battery hi-drain would be the best for a mod. Especially for the power hungry LR's. Is there a better choice and anyone have a suggestion for an already built PV like the Silver Bullet, Omega, Protege, Precise, GG Giant, Bulli Extreme, The Chuck, etc....... Don't like the look of a box shaped mod or the smaller mods that take the CR123A battery. I like the look of a cylindrical shape.

No such thing, they are about half that.

Unless you are a woman... too much information.

@ Hex

Here's an easy hardware store mod (I wouldn't worry about the o-ring thing). Size it for an 18650, 3/4" copper body. The latest craze, all mechanical.
