Noob needs help! Perfume aftertaste!

So, 2 wks ago I received 2 juice orders.
Mt. Baker order included:
green apple, 18mg nic, 50/50
lemon breezy, 18mg nic, 50/50
blackberry, 18 nic, 50/50
hawk sauce, 18 nic, 80/20
blueberry, 12 nic, 80/20
blood orange, 18 nic, 50/50

HHV order included:

a sample pack which were all 12mg nic, 70/30
angels kiss
DD watermelon
just peachy
mocha java smooth

powder keg, 18nic, 50/50
Sparkling cranberry, 18 nic, 50/50

so I tried all out of mail, then breathed for 12 hrs each and have been steeping since, about 2wks, just over maybe. Tried them after a wk, put back to steep, except for powder keg, and mocha java. All the fruits are giving this aftertaste of perfume sprayed in my mouth. I have a netvapes D40 (Apple peach) that I bought, started vaping immediately, even though I watched them make when bought, so it had no steep or breathe, and it is fine. I'm learning I like a heavier ADV then fruit, but my local shop isn't my fav place right now, so I've ordered online. Besides such a bigger variety. But can anyone PLEASE tell me how to get rid of this perfumed taste? Longer steep? More breathe? Toss or give them away? I hate that I have 10 new flavors that I hate! It can't be vendor because it's that way with all my fruits except for the one I got at my local netvapes B&M.

Any advice would help! I'm so new to all this, and I want to be able to enjoy it enough that I can get off analogs all together!

I'm afraid for ME, MBV juices never got better with steeping. I haven't tried any of the HHV to comment. I can't vape anything that uses Flavor West flavoring (MBV juices)- they all taste perfumy.

The cleanest fruits I've had were from Ahlusion, AiV (Alice in Vapeland) and The Plume Room.

MBV is a great company to point new vapers to, because their flavors tend to be so strong, and they're very affordable and have wonderful customer service.

But you may find that if you're super sensitive to that alcohol/perfumy taste, you may want to look at more of the craft vapor companies. Highbrow is new to me, but also very good.

Some folks say craft juices are more expensive, but for me, it's more of a waste of money to chase sub-par flavors (for me) than to just pay a little more for flavors I KNOW I'll vape the entire bottle of.

Hope this helps!

Rab makes some great points as well as others in my thread http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/general-e-liquid-discussion/536450-when-fruit-not-fruit.html it seems to cover what you're going through. I also noticed what you describe in juices I ordered from MBV. I have no experience with HHV. The conclusion I came to (personally) ymmv. Is that vendors that use Flavor West flavoring in their juices are the only ones I seem to have issues with and let me say this: It's only with Fruits That floral/perfume note that just kills the juice for me. Dessert and Sweets from MBV have not affected me in this way.

Yay!! I am not alone . . .

I love fruit, especially citrus fruits and berries. And I thought a fruit vape would make a wonderful all day vape. I have ordered more juices from assorted vendors. And always well rated juices from popular vendors. And I always get that taste you are describing.

What finally did it for me was Deadly Sin from Goodelife. I live on that stuff.

Way back when I first tried vaping (fell off the wagon for a couple years) I found the perfect apple pie from somewhere. Can't remember where I got it. That stuff was wonderful! But I have had much better luck with flavor on the bakery/fruit vapes than the straight fruit flavor ones.

Good luck, and stick with it!

One note about Ahlusion - if you don't like the taste right out of the bottle, it really does develop very nicely with some steeping.

Give Blueberry and/or Strawberry Vanilla Cake a try. Mango Lassi is also very good!

And be sure to give them feedback when you get your feedback e-mail - with what you're vaping on, etc and for example - "I really liked Blueberry Vanilla Cake, but I found the blueberry to be a little subtle and would like to taste more of it", or whatever your feedback is. It could also be "Mango Lassi was perfect, I wouldn't change a thing!"

They profile you and the next time you order it, they'll adjust the flavors to your preferences.

If you are not currently dripping, on your first order, in the comments, be sure to include what hardware you are using, what topper you are using, and what your ohms are (if you know) and what voltage or wattage you like. Most of their juices are created for drippers, so they want to know if you're using something else so that they can adjust the flavor.

i'm in no way talking about either of the companies you are using BUT I will say I had this problem with cheap juice. I have since moved on to more boutique stuff and never had this problem again...

Again, nothing against HHV or MBV I have never tried them, just my .02

I hate the perfumy flowery stuff...

I recently got one that has a very definite chemical taste/smell -- not sure if it's perfume, it's definitely something chemical. I let it breathe for about 30 hrs... and it's been steeping almost a week. Tasted it again today and that yucky chemical taste is still there, so I'm gonna let that sucker steep for a MONTH before I try it again.

If you like the fruit taste but want something with more OOMPH you might try one that was actually my very first ejuice purchase... I didn't like it at first but it's growing on me. It's a Pipe Sauce called Oak Barrel Cider. Very definite and very TRUE apple taste; you'll taste the apples long after you put down the vape.

did you order extra flavor?

Yes, on some I did, I tried everything to no extra shots to 3 extra. Just testing out what I'd like, also diff pg/vg ratios, just trying to narrow down what works for me, what doesn't. I also realized that because I haven't stopped analogs totally yet, by tastes are dulled. Can't wait til I'm off totally and get my true taste and smell back!

definitely get yourself some vg/pg/nic base at whatever mg/mL you are like and mix it with some of those.

The having just quit cigarettes/not having your taste buds thing does exist, but it isn't what's going on here. There is a great chance there's too much flavor concentrate in your juice. Try it with one of them and see what happens.

Will do! I think I'll dilute with vg only, too much pg seems to really bother my throat. Even @ 50/50. But even on the ones I didn't add extra shots, it's perfume. It's horrible! I did email both companies today to see if they had and advice for me also. Thanks for the help!

the e mail is a great Idea. All of us here can guess, but they might actually know Lol.

Yeah, vg is fine.. Remember that just adding vg will reduce the nic level. Start with a small amount like say if you have 5 mL of a juice add 1 mL of vg, then 2, then 3 and so on. Would be best if you had a dripper for quick tasting. If you're doing a 1:1 ratio and it still doesn't seem to be helping then I'm wrong lol. but it's at least something to try.. that's better than them just getting put in the unvapable pile.

**I suggest this because it has worked on juice I've bought that I couldn't vape because It tasted like chemicals (perfume fit the bill)

I just got my first order from MBV in January. In my experience, that juices had to steep for at least a month to taste good, especially to get rid of the floral tastes. I found that thug juice and hawk sauce improved quite a bit after a month. I would say that I'm sure higher end juices are better after they steep, but it's a cost/satisfaction issue for me and I found most of the MBV products vapeable after a month.

Good luck
Mike

Yeah, unfortunately if you've already let it airate and steep for a while, I don't think that perfumey flavor is going to go away. When I've had the perfume issue, leaving the cap off usually fixed it unless I just didn't like the flavor. That will happen. It sucks but there's not much you can do. I wouldn't throw your juices away though. I give my juices to my grandma or trade/etc on here. Usually someone will take them.

Yeah, I uncapped for a day when I got them, maybe I'll do all of above. Lol! Breathe again, steep 2 more wks, drip some and if not good, I'll start adding vg. Already have that, did you know that vg and distilled water make a great make up set mist ladies? Just a tidbit for you diyers that have supplies around. Im kind go a diy junkie, just not even close to ready to start doing my own juices. Maybe I should just get a mix to dilute anything else that may come up like this. If not, then guess who's going to be giving away 10 bottles of juice? This girl!

Thanks for all the help guys and gals!
