Hi everyone. Been doing a lot of reading here and other forums. Felt like it was time to register to get some more help.

My brother turned me onto vaping vs. my back and forth quitting smoking cigs and cigars for years. Not sure where he gets his info but what he tells me is gospel today is old news and wrong the next.

Currently I have a collection of EVOD batteries and tanks, a Vamo 1 and 5, and a Protank 2. The other night I bought a cheap mechanical and a IGO-W that I probably won't see for a while. I also bought a pack of 2mm Ekowool and 28ga Kanthal, and a foot of XC-116.

I plan to use the mechanical primarily with the IGO-w, but I'd also like to rebuild my protank and evod heads with either the new 3mm silica or the XC-116.

Will be trying to pin down recommended builds for use on the Protank and Evod heads using the XC-116.

Check out rebuildable subforum in apv topics, search for baditude blogs, and what kind of batteries are you getting?

Do you have questions? Can't help you with ceramic builds.. especially on protanks.. look into micro coils. Cotton has done well by me, so I haven't even thought of getting ceramic.

Edit-3mm silica would probably be too big for kanger heads. Do you mean ekowool for new silica? People primarily use cotton, but lazy people like to use silica in kanger heads to dry burn coil easier.

Ok, I'll hunt those threads.

Using IMR 18650's, 2000mah batteries.

I have a micro coil my brother built me for a cheap drip atomizer I use. Coil is fine but I'm not sure I like the flavor of the cotton compared to the silica that came with it. The vape, other than tase, is much better in every other way, and the drip capacity is nice.

Correction, it's 2mm Ekowool. Haven't tried it yet.

That battery is only a 10 amp battery, even an IMR 18490 has a higher amp rating. (16a)
If you can find them, you want the IMR 18650 1600mah battery. (30a) Efest still has them, but AW doesn't.
ElectronicStix.Com · Efest 30A IMR 18650 1600mAh 3.7V high drain Flat top (Pair)

Wow I wasn't aware of that. I simply bought the AW IMR batteries that had the highest mAh rating. I don't see maximum current draw listed on hardly any of the batteries I've been shopping for. Where do you find this info? I noticed on the site you linked, they don't list the max A draw for the AW IMR's either.

Also is 10A not enough? A 0.5 ohm coil pushed at 4.7 volts is only pulling 9.4. I guess I could imagine getting that close using dual coils, but that's generating almost 45W of power to the coils.

I guess I need to do more reading on sub-ohm coils and why to go lower. I thought it was just to make the coils match the power supply.

Speaking of which, I can't find any information on the various EVOD and Kanger Protank heads. What I'm trying to figure out is why they are so diverse and how to know what I'm buying.

The three types I have are these:

The smallest hole is one of the short EVOD heads. The other two are taller and have bigger air holes.

I'd prefer to buy a set of the tall large hole version to use. Do these have a specific name?
