So I'm pretty new to vaping, I started with njoy kings at the convenience store and decided I wanted all in. I did some research got sucked in to those fake site and bought the V2 kit. Its been okay but I'm not getting a good enough throat hit. The Njoys seem better! I'm a menthol smoker and went all menthol in my flavors. I have juice on the way a couple samples of diff menthol tobacco and Nuport flavs. I'm ready to fill my own carto's but I'm not so ready for some of those complicated gizmos you guys talk about. What would be an ecig better than the V2 but I still want the 2 part system just something that would give a better throat hit. I find myself just wanting to vape vape vape and I'm still not getting satisfied. It's hard not to go for an analog even if i just vaped. Maybe 18mgs isn't high enough? Also just a couple quick questions, is it normal to have throat irritation? It seems like my throat is killing me and I'm coughing like crazy. Also if you pop open a carto and take out the filler inside can u just put it back in and fill it or did u screw it up cuz of the coil? I got curious to see what it looked like to fill one and thought I was taking out the little plastic piece and ended up taking out the filling like a dummy. Oh so V2 has a 30 day money back guarantee so I'm about a week in and don't know if i should order something else now and then just send this back??

You are either tied to a charger at home and in your car or you buy an ecig with higher amperage capability. It's like using a penlight flashlight versus whatever size fits your needs and is convenient to carry. If it has to fit in a shirt pocket, you are stuck with a penlight. One that fits in a pants pocket might just be bright enough.

Cigarette sized ecigs will always make you dependent on a charger. The eGo Twist in the 1000mah size is a good tradeoff. You can go most of the day on a charge and it can vary the voltage from 2.9v to 4.8v to let you dial in the throat hit and vapor level you want with various atomizer coils, cartos, and tanks.

Eventually, you will end up wanting a mod that uses 18650 batteries that aren't built into the case of the ecig. Those batteries are available in 2000mah and 3000mah sizes and will last you all day and maybe into the next on a charge. Even with bigger batteries you can slip it into a jeans pocket or coat pocket and walk around vaping. 18650 batteries run from $5 to $12 each and last a long time. I have 4 AW 18650 IMR batts that I've been charging and rotating for almost a year with no signs of slowing down.

The Vamo is popular right now. It's a little over $50 and has variable voltage and variable wattage settings. Lavatube has been popular for quite a while, but it has serious competition today. Or, you could spend a lot more and buy a Provari, which is mil spec electronics and a machined stainless steel casing. There are lots of choices out there and a backup is crucial to keep you off cigs, so you can buy whatever is highly rated and work your way up to the high end. I haven't tried the Vamo, but it gets good press here in ECF. I might just buy one for backup to my Provari. It could be nice to play around with variable wattage.

So the ego-c and the twist are the same? My word now can u understand y I'm so confused!

I totally understand why you are confused. Here is some new member info to read on different types of ecigs.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...287787-three-main-types-ecig-explanation.html

Here's where to find new to ECF info. Lots of good info there.

I've looked up so much, just want something portable i don't care about the charging so much, I work from home. I just want something that's gonna do its best to trick me into feeling like its a cigarette, i know it won't be the same .... something to hit the back off my throat...so thru the models I'll search I just wish someone would say buy this! 2 pieces battery and cartomizer and that's all lol!!

So Cartridges and clearos have the atomizer built in.

I can recommend that you look at the Smokeless Image products because I have used them and I am happy with the customer service and the products.

If you go this route you can get 2 650 batts and a couple of T3's and a bottle or two of liquid and you are set to vape. Oh, and a charger.

Smokeless Image | The Best Electronic Cigarette

You don't need a cone. People just do that for looks.

The batts last about 6 hours [could vary by how much you vape] Charge one and while you vape on the other:)

If you want something you can just slip in your pocket, I'd suggest a 650 mah EGO battery with an EVOD clearomizer - they combine into a very light unit with a total length of about 125mm. Here are some other things to consider:

1. If you're buying ego batteries for the first time it's advisable to get two in a kit with a compatible ego charger.
2. You can buy replacable heads for the evod - imo the 1.8ohm heads work best on a regular ego battery, but that's a personal preference.
3. Remember to buy some juice - 20ml to 30ml will proably last you a week. When it arrives you might need to give the bottle a gentle shake and put it aside to 'steep' for a few days - that generally improves the flavour.

The Smokeless Image gear is 808 and the ego style gear is 510.

The T3 is a tank that holds e liquid and it has the atomizer "built in". You can buy replaceable heads with some of the T3's. I'm not real techy so I am sort of hoping that someone with really great knowledge will be able to help you as well.

Of course, I can help you with the SI products because I have used so many of them:)

The SI spinner has variable voltage. It is not hard to use but it is easier to simply get a "regular" X-2 battery and it will save you money.

Smokeless Image | The Best Electronic Cigarette

I would get 2 of these. They are bigger than a cig style battery. More like the size of a sharpie.

You will want a battery charger USB

For the clearomizer which is also the atomizer. The T3

Juice is up to you but I would get one or two bottles to try. There are sample sized Nicquid available.

Smokeless Image | Only The Best Electronic Cigarette | Refill Liquid

Head over to these links and come back with any questions.

You would be spending around $60 or so but you would be nicely set up.

Should i go that route our try a starter kit? I'm gonna go ahead and order this, hoping its def gotta be better than what I have...just thinkin the starter kits aren't too exp (well a Lil) & what's a t3?

The Kanger T3 was one of the first 'bottom-coil' clearomizers to appear on the market. They can vary in quality, but if you get a good one it should work fine. Personally i prefer clearomizers to cartomizers, and the new bottom coil clearomizers work really well. The evod is a very new product, so you might not find it included in any kit yet, but I'd recommend it to any newbie.

i live in the UK so I don't know any of the US vendors, but I'll take a look around and try to find one for you.

If you work from home I'd definitely advise a USB pass through. It hooks up to the USB port on your computer, no batteries to charge. You can also use them in your car, provided you get a USB adapter for your cigarette lighter port- make sure the adapter provides at least 2 amps. I use an iGo adapter with a 510 setup and it works well.

Just remember- have a backup plan for charging! I use a USB charger with a wall plug, that way I can also charge through my car or computer. I also have an AC wall charger in case that breaks.

Good point, Skoot, and one of the reasons I like the X-2 battery from SI. It works as a pass through as well as a free standing battery.

Don't get discouraged, OP. I think if you get started with the system I told you about you will be happy. I love my SI products and the customer service is great!

I understand your confusion, and you'll get a lot of advice here in the forums that will be very useful once you gain just a little experience. Most of us started the same way you have and it just takes a little time to understand the different components and lingo that goes with vaping. With that said, this is the starter kit that I've been recommending:

2 eGo Twist or Vision Spinner batteries (@ 900mAh or better)
2 Kanger T3 clearomizers (or MT3, or EVOD) - All Kanger bottom coil designs
1 420mA eGo charger
1 USB wall adapter

The Twist and Spinner batteries allow you to change the voltage that heats the coil in the clearomizer, so you can adjust for taste and vapor production as needed. The mAh rating on a battery represents its charge capacity, or the length of time that you will be able to use it between charges. For a light to moderate vaper, the average time on a battery is approximately 1 hour for each 100mAh (so 9 hours on a 900mAh battery).

Clearomizers are e-liquid delivery systems that are made up of a head (coil and wick) and tank to hold the liquid. The e-liquid is fed to the coil via the wick material, where it is heated to a point that it becomes vapor (vaporization process). The advantage to most clearomizers for new users is that they're very easy to use and refill, and you can see the level of the liquid left in the device.

While the Kanger clearomizers, when attached to a battery, are not truly a 2 piece device because of the replaceable head, they do offer the convenience of a 2 piece device for normal operation. Replacing the heads is also quite simple, and they offer an affordable way to extend the life of the clearomizer to help you save more money over time. There are also many good instructional videos on YouTube showing how to rebuild and clean the heads, should you choose to do that as well, but it's not necessary.

Hope this helps.

I'd agree with everything BuGlen said, and I believe you can get all of these products in one place at myvaporstore.com

Bear in mind that variable voltage and/or passthrough batteries will be bigger than regular batteries.
