Hi all! I ordered the patriot rda as my first rebuild able system. I'm not looking to push the limits with sub-ohming or anything like that. That being said, I still want to approach this as safely as possible. Question 1: When measuring the resistance of my coil, do I just measure from the positive post to the ground post? Question 2: When running two coils, how do I figure the overall ohms? measure each coil separate, average, then divide by two? (So a 1.2 and a 1.4 ohm coil would be 0.65 ohms overall, correct?) Thanks.

2-in-1 Ohm & Voltage Meter

Yes just divide the ohms of the coils by 2. But you want the 2 coils to be as close as possible to the same ohms so they heat up evenly.

So 2 coils at 1.4 ohms will equal 0.7 ohms...

What I was looking for. Thanks. I don't need a 510 specific meter though, I already have a multimeter.

Especially if the multimeter is an inexpensive one.....it's a good idea to measure the resistance of the test leads BEFORE making coil measurements.....touch the 2 lead probes together and note the reading --- THEN, SUBTRACT this figure from the reading on each coil...
There CAN be a wide deviation...sometimes several tenths of an ohm!!!
Happy (vaping) Trails!
