Noobie Q- Do all tanks leak?

My wife bought me a 5ml tank with a 510 threaded carto. The thing leaks like a sieve all over the battery and all I get is juice in my mouth and a puff of vapor. I have been lurking for a few weeks and see all these pics of mods with similar tanks, so I was wondering, is there a BEST tank out there? Is this a fluke and I just got a bad one?

Any help with an answer would be greatly appreciated.

drop the cartos and go for wicked tanks like ce2s or v2s or maybe a map tank or eaven a repairable one , ce2s or ce4s almost never leak, with cartos the negative pressure building inside the tank often causes leakage
Thanks Andy, do you know if the Vision Stone 3 is a similar type tank that has good reviews? I was hoping there was a trick to keep this one from leaking that I didn't know about...LOL

None of my carto tanks have ever leaked, and you have to be doing something wrong in order to make them leak. The most common culprit is to be pressurizing the tank with the way you are filling them. That pressure will push the juice out the bottom of the carto, and also force juice into the air passage of the carto which causes them to gurgle.
This is how I fill my tanks, never take the top off. When you put the top back in, you compress the air trapped below it.

Leaking is simply the result of having higher pressure in the tank and lower pressure in the carto.

I use chibi tanks from Parkes and agree with tj99959, the one and only time I had leakage was when I got too much air pressure.... just stuck the syringe needle in along side the top grommet and voila it was fine.... sure do like them..... on the other hand the chibi and the acorn, both from Parkes, are the only 2 I have used.

That's how I filled it, drew the tank down and filled the carto first, then dripped down the side, but the very first draw gave me nothing but a mild vapor, the second draw was about the same and after that less vapor than the first draw, so I unscrewed the tank and saw my batter top was filled with juice. So I cleaned it off, screwed it back on and began again, this time I got a mouth full of juice on the third pull and battery was again covered in juice.

When using the syringe you still have to make sure that you are letting air out as you put juice in or you will have pressure.

Yesterday I was asking this same question. Today I stopped by Freedom Smokes USA and told the guy I was interested in trying a tank for my eGo. He said, "I have something perfect for you." He called them CE4, but (after some research) I think they are CE4+. Or maybe Stardust.

Whatever. I bought three and loaded up 'em with my favorite juices, and have been vaping all day. Best damn vape I've ever had. Not a sign of a leak, and they are very easy to fill (no medical equipment required). They cost $6.50 each. Yesterday, I thought Boge cartos were the ultimate experience for this newbie. Now they seem so 2011, and I'm wondering what I will do with 20 or so I have.

If these devices last only two days, it's a great deal (compared to analogs). But I think they will last a longer than that -- especially now that I read up on how to clean them.

Sorry I didnt see your response to tj99959 before posting my response, took me longer than I thought to find the video. I never fill my cartos all the way up, but I do saturate them some. I think with a full carto and the juice wicking in from the tank as you draw is causing it to flood. Try and just maybe fill the carto roughly half way and try that, I have a feeling that will prevent the issue your having.

Stardust do work well (I prefer the LR version) and are cleanable. On the tank leaking thing, maybe the o-rings are pinched or maybe you just have a bad carto. I use the DCT V2 a lot and only time one leaked was me pulling a bone head move and pulling the cylinder off the bottom with a full tank. If you punched your own carto maybe the holes are too big?

If you slot your carto with a Dremel it's possible there was a burr that caught the o-ring and put a small tear in it. I have Liquinators and a Smoketech tank and have never had leaking issues.
It was a fully assembled tank that came with a pre-punched carto and drip tip. I guess I'm going to have to learn how to slot my own! I think there is a dremel somewhere in my house...LOL

I have leaking every great now and then, but I think for me, it's error in punching the cartos or getting juice in the center of the carto while filling the tank.
To fill my tanks, I use these and a syringe:
    Tank Filler

Also, I don't fill the carto at all. Sometimes with thicker juices I'll put a few drops in the carto.

It's a little on the pricy side but I haven't had any leaking issues so far, always had some sort of leak from DCTs mostly through the center hole (probably something I was doing wrong). Only issue with this tank is when using igetcha69's (Scott) filling method the carto will flood but it doesn't last long. I no longer slot my cartos because I heard someone saying something about metal filings getting into your carto (plus it may cut your o-rings as others have stated).
