I'm fairly new to vaping (and I've never smoked before), and I have a few questions.

1) I bought the Halo Triton starter kit and I've found that the taste of the e-liquid is extremely muted on this system compared to my friend's ego-twist. Why is this?

2) How often should I replace my tanks and coils? I wash them with soap and water/ soak them and let them dry before using them again.

3) I recently bought the ming drip tip (very pretty) and noticed it doesn't fit onto the tank, it only takes tips that screw in. Is there some sort of extension/adapter I can buy to screw into the tank and fit my drip tip in? Or will I have to buy a different brand of tank--if so which brands are compatible with the triton battery?

4) I'm looking for a very sweet, almost vanilla tasting, and strong flavor juice. Any suggestions? (Preferably American made)

FYI: I absolutely hate the taste of nicotine, it's disgusting and peppery. I always get 0mg e juices.

hey mheg,

different delivery systems will offer different flavor even if you are using the same juice that your friend uses.

with those style of tanks i wouldn't use soap on or on any wicking material as the soap flavor may never leave. just a hot water bath(soaked in boiled water), then let them dry out. you can also look into dry burning them on youtube, which is just pressing the button until they start to glow to get any excess coil gunk off.

im not aware of any drip tip adapters being made

grants vanilla custard seems to be super popular but also hard to find for some.

hope that helps you some.

Hi mHeg,

First off, welcome to the forums!

I will do my best to answer your questions:
1) Not all tanks work equally. From what I can see from the pictures on the halo site, the tank is a top feeder. While some juices will work just fine on this setup, not all will wick well, which may result in a severely muted flavor.

Your local brick and mortar will likely have some much better, relatively cheap bottom feed tanks. My personal favorite cheap tank is the evod. Clicky

2) Your tank is plastic, I would give it about 5-6 months before replacement. Some juices do react with plastic tanks, and if you use said juices you may have to replace it more often. The coils normally last 2-4 weeks depending on how much you vape.

3) I dont think there are adapters for that kind of tank. Your pretty much stuck with what it comes with. That will be the case for the evod I recommended as well. If you want a tank that can fit that kind of tip, and that works very well, look out for the pro tank mini. Note that not all drip tips will fit this device. Clicky

4) Taste is pretty subjective. I have a vanilla from vermillion river, that I love. Clicky

Regarding the fyi, and a general warning. While vaping is safer than smoking, it is still harmful, even at zero nicotine.

These juices from NicoTicket are highly rated, and Kent's customer service is bar-none the best out there!

The flavor can be different from clearo to clearo. the resistance of the coil will have an impact as well as the voltage/wattage you use as well.

You just need to try out different styles of clearomizers, bottom coil vs. Top coil, etc. until you find the right combo that works for you.

Depends on Tank system and voltage/wattage/juice chosen lots of variables to consider

Avoid soap it can leave a unappealing aftertase. I replace coils/wicks when I notice a harshness or burnt taste.

Hmm you got me there.. dont know of any adaptors for a screw in to push in fit. Not too familiar with the Triton battery set but Im sure someone else here does know

Sweet vanilla? go to Virgin Vapor and order the double flavor 0 nic Vanilla in 100% VG

Welcome.
If you are not a smoker, I would caution you to avoid vaping especially since it is still relatively young and the health issues are not merely unknown but distinct.

If you insist on vaping, take a long hard look at that plastic tank and ask yourself how often do you really want to be inhaling stuff from plastic.

Look for a pyrex tank;

1: difference between power sources. Whatever battery your triton kit came with is different from ego; and the ego twist goes up to 4.8v whereas the other battery is probably fixed at 3.7v
2: nowadays the systems come with replaceable coils, so no longer any need to throw away a good tank, and also no longer a need to have cheap plastic tanks. Get a couple good pyrex tanks.
The coils/heads I would need to be changed weekly. Some people will just keep a bunch of coils and change coil daily (put the used coil to soak).
3: dunno; the ego would have 2 interfaces, - the big outer threads are called ego, and the small inner threading is called 510. The 510 seems to be becoming the dominant standard.
