Okay, when I ordered my KR808D-1, I got as many things I thought I needed to last at least a week of testing.

1. When I plugged my passthrough into my USB port the computer automatically disconnected another device because the passthrough sucked up power. Seeing as I have a brand new iMac, I was afraid to plug it directly into the computer port. I used the USB extension. Did anyone else have this problem?

2. But my biggest dilemma is that I have this soft tips that look like a cigarette holder with stuffing in them and do not know what to do with them. I'm thinking they do not go with the 808 but am not sure. Can someone explain to me how to use them?:confused:

hi pearly, they sound like cartridges.... not really familiar with the KR808D but am thinking they consist of a battery and a cartomizer? If that is correct, then you will not use the cartridges as they are for a 3-piece e-cig (battery, atomizer and cartridge). Just put them away for now as you never know when you might want them for a different mod.
I have read that the pass-thru is not good for your computer so I just plug mine into an outlet next to my computer... don't know why your computer did this but just keep it out of the computer and play it safe.

Don't use PTs in computer USB. Almost all PTs need more current than that.

USB is only specced to provide 500ma of power (1/2 amp). If you used an unpowered USB hub, that is 500ma divided amongst the devices on it. Mac may provide a bit more for charging iPad but in general do not hook a PT to a PC's USB port.

Get an AC adapter that says it is for the PT you have OR buy a 2amp USB to AC.

Re the "soft tips" you have I do not understand. If they have threads on one end and a mouthhole on the other they are cartomizers. KR808D-1 uses cartomizers. If they are push-on type things then they are not for the KR808D-1. They may be cartridges meant for a DSE901 atty. A DSE901 atty can be put on a KR8 instead of a cartomizer. I know of exactly one site that sells their own KR808D-1 kit with a DSE901 atty and carts but either 0 or 1 of their "Atomz" which is the stupid name they have for their cartomizers. Why anyone would sell a KR808D-1 kit w/ no cartomizers is beyond me. I actually don't think they sell that kit anymore.

@Knobbysmoo, thanks! And I love your avatar :D.
@dormouse, love your avatar too. Thank you and the soft tips are push-ons. So I guess I will just put them away as knobbysmoo suggested. I will look into getting a powered usb hub plus an adapter. I just got this computer and after blowing through 2 windows and a Mac G-4, I'm a lot more cautious about what I do with it, lol. But I have to say the G-4 lasted a good long time even with abuse (nearly ten years).

I use a Rosewill 4-port USB to AC - I use RUC6180 but now NewEgg only sells the one that also has international plugs, RUC6181

Some people get a similar 2? port one at Walmart

When you are not using the PT you can charge 4 batteries on the Rosewill one assuming their battery adapters will all fit in the closely spaced USB slots. I can fit one stubby one on the end then 3 cable-type battery adapter. It's best for batteries to have a stable supply for charging so I would not use a PT and charge batteries at the same time. It comes with instruction that like how much of the 2amp some Apple accessories need to charge. You can combine anything as long as you don;t go over 2amps of power need (2000mA)
