Normal 18650 Charging time?

Hi Everybody. Just wondering, how long does it normally take to charge batteries. I have a Sony VTC4 and I'm wondering if the its the charger, or the battery? Now, I got probably the lowest end charger there is, its in Chinese so I don't have a name. I would just assume the charger has crapped out on me, but its only like two weeks old.

Does it normally take a long time? I don't have too much info. I tried charging it yesterday, and it didn't charge at all. But neither did my cell phone, so my power strip might have gotten unplugged somehow (I didn't notice until I left home this morning so I couldn't verify).

Either way, I'm going to upgrade my charger, I'm just hoping the battery isn't shot. First battery, so I don't know the signs of a shot battery (physically, nothing looks wrong on the outside FWIW). I can read the voltage on my VAMO, but it won't fire because the charge is too low.

Really depends on your charger. Some can charge one of them in about an hour, and a better 5 stage starter may take 3-4 hours. I have a Pila i got from provape, and its definitely the best charger I have gotten. It does not trickle charge when left on with battery already fully charged, and have definitely seen much longer battery life out of my batteries since the purchase. Also find that my older batteries when charged on this charger hold a longer charge then my cheesey quick/sure fire chargers that came with some of my v/v devices.

Its worth getting a good one rather than trying to save money on something rather important to this process.

1: How long does my battery take to charge.
8 hours
And mine isn't vtc; just ordinary blue batt; and I got a efest 2000 IMRs.

2: You can read the voltage on your VAMO???? I don't understand; you can read the voltage but ....
Oh; you mean you don't care what the voltage is?
Or are you saying the battery is too dead to turn on the vamo?

3: I get the feeling you left the batt in a mech and ran the batt down below 2.5 volts and the batt is dead now

2. If I put the battery in the Vamo, it will turn on, and all the readings will work, it just won't fire. The battery reads as 3.3V, so I'm assuming if the readings work, the battery isn't fried, just not enough juice to work.

Additionally, I have had it plugged in at work for a few hours, and no change in the battery strength, so I'm assuming the charger is dead. I knew when I bought it that it was going to be a stop gap until I could get a better one, just kind of hoped I'd get a little more life out of it.

The battery reads 3.3V.
That answers everything; your charger is not working.

If you had a multimeter you could check the charger; maybe if you check it you will find it isn't even putting out any voltage.
Not sure if it's the first time you're using the charger - maybe it's the wrong charger type? Dangerous to use the wrong charger.

Or maybe the power strip came unplugged as he may of mentioned before. That would be the first place i'd check lol.
