Hello guys,
A new kid in the block without smoke or water vapor here but inhaled quite a bit of battery's smoke and some of its chemicals discharge in the air. Came here just for an awesome and detailed tests on batteries especially for li ion 18650 and 21700 types.

I'm into power tools and making power pack for power tools is my newfound hobby (obsession), albeit expensive at that. Power tools' batteries are notoriously expensive and they charge way too much for my meagre income to keep up and some of their prices are downright ridiculous (from my own view);so I'm going down this (ribbit) hole to learn and expand my view and knowledge on battery chemistry, performance and of course the best batteries in their price range. Sorry for the long rant .

The main battery god I know of is @Mooch. When it comes to batteries he is da man. Ecigs use the same sorts of batteries used in power tools. .. or they used to. Also older electric cars. If you have a way to test batteries you can do that one almost for free by buying old battery packs for scrap metal price, pulling out the still good cells (which is often most of them) and leaving the bad ones as scrap. At one time there were people making a living doing this. Old but still working cells can be formed into new battery packs for things like electric bikes and sold on eBay. Not something I would buy, but there are people that do.
