Just got a Smart Smoker Mini e cig. Put it together exactly how i was told, charged it for 7 hours before use.

Got vapour like 3 times, now nothing. Changed cartridge, nothing. Seems to be a complete waste of time!

Even tried covering holes etc and still nothing.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?! I didn't know it was so hard to 'smoke'...

Thanks!

Hi Jay, and welcome to ECF. I'm sorry, I've never heard of that pv brand, but I can offer *maybe* a couple of possibilities/suggestions.

First off - your first taste (those 3 puffs you managed to get out of it) might have just been the primer fluid on the atty/carto. Again, I don't know anything about this brand you have so not sure if it uses an atty or carto (is it 3-piece or 2-piece?). Also, did the cartridges come pre-filled, or are they "blank" that you need to fill yourself with e-liquid? If they are blanks, this might explain why you are getting no vapor.

These are about the only things I can think of without knowing this particular setup. For more detailed help, let us know more about what you have (a link to the vendor where you got it perhaps?).

Welcome, Jay! It shouldn't be that hard to vape. It sounds like this is an automatic battery, so you might have to take a couple of quick puffs to get the cartridge primed. Inhaling is also different between vaping and smoking. Try taking long, slow, gentle puffs. If you try to suck on it like you're sucking a milkshake through a straw it won't work well.

If all else fails you can always get a KR808 kit. They're way more consistant. I would also suggest getting a manual battery because they work better. You don't have to do the primer puffs and you don't have to worry about getting juice in the battery because they're sealed. Automatic batteries have a hole in the connection end of the battery to sense when you draw. If juice gets in there it can ruin the battery.

I'm in UK so its hard to get them, that and I don't have all the money in the world to keep buying these things...!

This is the e-cig i have:

Pocket Size Electronic Cigarette | Smart Smoker UK

I don't have any spares etc as you can see but to me it seems ridiculous that they could sell these things when so many don't work.

Thanks for your replies!

I know it's hard to get started, believe me. I didn't get started on the right foot either, and I spent way more money on crap than you did. Take a look at Cloud9Vaping Starter Kits. They're in the UK and you'll get a much more reliable kit that will get you started right.

They have the 510 kits, which are just as good as the KR808's. They also have Riva kits which have a bigger battery that will last you at least 7-8 hours before they need to be recharged. That was my first PV and I love it!

Liberty-Flights is also in the UK and they have some really great stuff and some fantastic prices, too!

I can certainly understand the need to keep things affordable. But can I be really honest with you? The bottom of that page you linked said the 2 cartridges are the equivalent of 30 cigarettes. I'm sorry, but that just isn't true. A cartridge *might* and I mean might... be about the same as 5 cigarettes, if that. Luckily, you didn't spend a whole lot on this device you got - unfortunately I've seen kits that sell for over $100/USD that are pure crap.

Being that you are in the UK, I believe Totally Wicked has a UK location as well as their US location. They are a good solid company, and been around for awhile and sell good products at reasonable prices.

I know right now you are probably getting a bit peeved that you bought something that doesn't work. A LOT of folks started out this journey with less-that-good devices and paid a helluva lot more for their mistake, so don't beat yourself up over it. Just do some research, ask questions here, let us know what the important things are to you (vapor production, device style, how much you smoke, etc). There is a boat-load of folks here that will help you find something you will enjoy from a reputable dealer at a price you can afford.

Most important thing Jay - don't give up! You have made the very wise decision to head down a path of healthier living. We're all right there with you and will help you any way we can!
