Not having luck with my Nautilus Mini

My new iStick is rocking my world. My new tank...notsomuch. I bought 4 nautilus Mini's and have already flooded 2. They are both now taken apart, cleaned and drying on a paper towel. The first one worked well for awhile then started gurgling and sputtering juice. The 2nd one did the same almost right out of the gate. I've tried various voltages, air hole sizes, checked to make sure everything was tight. I don't get what I'm doing wrong.

I'm having better luck with this Protank 3 I bought with the same order, and I don't even know why but I bought 3 of them. It's working great.

Any ideas?

Same thing happened with me. I took them apart as well and wiped everything down. I changed the coil, put it back together, and filled it up. It is working fine now. I have no idea if it was the coil or learning curve on my part. I saved the coil and at some point I will put it back in to see if it was bad or if it was the operator. Good luck!

Yup.
I got ideas:
You're doing what any smoker's instinct does.
It don't work so you suck a little harder to light up your cigarette.

When you suck a little harder it floods more.

Keep the tanks full and they're less likely to flood;
if they get low they tend to flood more (air/vacuum pressure)

I don't use clearo tanks much so I can't say if this will help of not but it's worth noting. The nautilus and similar tanks work kind of like a vacuum and all the seals need to be the right and secured properly in order for liquid to get to the wick and on the coil. You might be screwing things in too loose or tight, everything should be snug fitting. How you draw on the device will also help liquid get to the coil, can't be a loose draw or a sharp draw. Keep the tank as full as possible as that helps in keeping the vacuum. Sometimes the replacement coils are no good too.
Good luck.

Thanks for the replies. I will mess with it more this weekend and see if I can get things right, I'd really like to be able to use them on my iStick.

I have to say though this Protank 3 is performing really well. I threw them onto my last order as an afterthought, not really knowing what I was buying. Then I read a few reviews (after-the-fact) and read some negative things about the coils... but, so far so good here.

Are you using BDC or BVC heads in the Nautilus Mini's.
Verified authentic by way of Aspires site & scratch off code?

BVC and yep, authentic with scratch off codes.

I should mention I'm quite new to this and up until now have been using e-go style batteries so there's a pretty good chance this is user error :p

Keep on playing with it. I don't have the mini, I have the full size, but, I found it to be finicky when I first started using it. It took a couple tries of putting it back together again to get it to work properly. I found the fiddling required at first to be a pain, but it was better than dealing with the burnt coils every day that I was getting with my other tank and eventually, I figured out how to get it together without having to take it apart. I have mini Protank 3's also, and I like them, but the flavor of the BVC is worth playing around with it a bit more. Good luck!

this! my daughter was over yesterday, and we tried her Nautilus (Nautili? if theres more than one? two of which I gave her) on the iStick and she calls me "the great flooder of the Nautilus" *lol*

hence why I gave her mine...you're sucking too hard. Slow and low, or SLURP:p

So the general consensus seems to be I suck too hard

That about sums it up. :) Soft and slow is how I use my nautilus mini.
Don't over tighten....just snug.
I have 7 of them and no flooding or dry hits on any of them.
After over 3 weeks I'm still on the original coils!
Keep trying...hope you love them as much as I do.

Basically you just need to adjust your sucking to the unit at hand, so to speak LOL.

The harder/stronger you suck, the more juice is likely to be pulled into the coil head and the coil head depending on the settings can only burn/atomize so much liquid, hence sucking too hard could cause more liquid to enter the coil head and not be able to be burned off. Eventually you may get the feel for it and know how strong or soft you have to suck on your atomizer to make it work right for you. It took me a day or two when I first started vaping to get into adjustment with the tanks that I was using. Now I tend to try to keep my tanks just ever so slightly flooded, enough to where the wicks are thoroughly saturated with liquid, but not so much that they spit liquid up through the drip tip as I'd rather hear the gurgle noise of a slightly flooded tank than to get dry hits and with how i can sometimes chain vape it helps in my case to keep the tank just ever so slightly flooded and gurgling softly, not enough to spit, but enough to keep the wick fully saturated with liquid.
