I'm getting ready to start after lurking here for many months. I've made purchase of: 1.) ProVari Mini 2.) 5 'atomized cartridges ' 3.) 1 plastic like tip 4.) 1 gallon VG 5.) 2 bottles of flavor 6.) extra batteries. Next, I will search for unflavored nicotine and if anyone has a favorite shop to visit, I'd like to hear about that. And my questions tonight to my favorite vapers from all over are, Do I need to get cartomizer or clearomizer or is the atomizer adequate? Am I all set do you think? And, finally, where have I gone wrong if I have?

Sounds like a great start to me. Enjoy and learn!

Somewhere out there
Welcome and congrats for getting ready before hand! The atomized cartridges are what we call cartos, you will need more than 5, so figure each one will last about a week, so get extras. If you want to try a clearo (clearomizer) be sure you get one that will fit on the Provari, many clearos are made to fit on ego batteries. If you only have VG and plan to vape 100% VG it is very thick and doesn't always wick as well as it should in clearos and even cartos, so you may have to add drops of distilled water to thin out your juice. Or add PG to your juice, makes the mix thinner and enhances throat hit and flavors.
You have a battery charger too for your batteries right? You will need that :) Have fun!
I get my DIY supplies from High Desert Vapes but there are many places to order DIY as well. bnrk

It deff sounds like your heads in the right place. I would lurk a bit longer in the juice section and try a few reputable vendors to see what your flavor profile is before diving headfirst into the DIY scene. While its very rewarding vaping your own brew its not the easiest thing to do, not terribly difficult either. But as far as setting up good for supplies pickup some cartomizers (more than a 5 pack) a carto tank(for when ya need to carry as little as possible) 3 or 4 atomizers, and some nummy juices. As far as the nic juice, rtsvapes is reasonable and should be fine for your DIY ventures, they have always treated me well.

Just my opinions...

1) If you're just starting, hang on to that VG and get some premade juice. If you DIY from the absolute beginning, you may become frustrated with finding a good flavor and annoy yourself out of vaping. I DIY almost exclusively but I'd be totally lost without at least tasting premade juice to know what to aim for.

2) If you "went wrong" anywhere... the cartomizers ("atomized cartridge"... "cartridge-atomizer" is where the name comes from). The ProVari is what many consider to be about as good as it gets, and cartos are what many consider to be a generally inferior idea. A carto is going to get you around an hour of strong vaping. A ProVari will get you a few days of battery juice. Getting a clearomizer or cartomizer-tank will be more satisfying because you'll be able to go much longer without a refill or recharge. Cartos don't hold much, don't last very long, and while I actually like the flavor out of a carto more than any tank I've tried, the long-term price and hassle turned me off to them.
