I have been off the analogs for a little over two months now. I recently visited a forum for quitting smoking and posted about my success and to inquire what others thought of the e cigs and if anyone had any success with them.

I about got my head bit off!!! How dare I suggest that anyone keep using nicotine... I understand the thought process but dont understand the ignorance that I was met with. I am afraid that they may of removed my post. I was admonished by some of the moderators and *virtually* attacked by many posters.

Personally , I see NO difference if ones goal is to slowly reduce nic levels be it the patch, gum or by reducing the nic in juice! It the means equals the end right??

On a light note, I did have some posting pals that PM'd me with support and were asking questions. I sent them this way :)

Summing up , I guess some things work for others. All the other methods never worked for me. To each his own and the last time I checked these are all public forums and we each have our own opinion.

Forum members give the same account from time to time. It does no good to enter the kingdom of the "I quit all by myself". Eventually someone comes in now and praises them and even defends them for being rude and ticked off at e-cig users.
Yeh, it's wonderful they quit with no nicotine. Good for them. In the end, they're just ticked they didn't know about e-cigs. We can praise them for doing it the hard way but they don't seem to share in the spirit. Better off leaving them alone.

I got a "quit all the way" (chantix) co-worker who gives me stinkeye when I vape.

But, its not nearly as bad as the stinkeye I got smoking analogs, so I just ignore it, can't please everyone!

I could see how an ex-smoker could be annoyed though- we're bringing a new temptation, that they still probably crave to a degree, back in their world. While I don't like it, its understandable they shun us, and will probably do so until e-cigs are the norm.

Slight unrelated note,
The chantix guy at work said he caught a buzz from the air in the small room after I had been moderately vaping all day... I don't know wether or not to believe him.

Uh...don't believe him. He's just mad because he isn't vaping too. Mad that he is on the darn Chantix to begin with, and afraid to go off of it because he will probably start smoking again, and mad cause if he does want to try the vaping, he won't be able to do it in front of you now. He's screwed all the way around, and you're not.

Oh, he's off chantix, I will give him that- hes over nicotine completely. He used it for a couple months then quit everything, which is respectable.

I do agree though- he probably wants to vape somewhere inside him! He cant though since hes "over nicotine completely" lol.

The funniest is when they tried to tell me PG was bad.

"Its bad for you."
"Why?"
"Because it must be"

Hooray science, eh

Thanks for sharing your story. It does my heart good to know we are out there vaping in public forums and proud of it.
Good job.
Too bad those people are so wrapped up in their own heads that they can't take the time to acknowledge someone who has taken steps to end an addition in a different way than they chose for themselves.

Vape On!!!!!

My Mom quit smoking 10 years ago (all by herself) and told me (out of my step-dad's hearing range) that she still wants one every single day and probably will till she dies.

She's VERY supportive of my vaping, even told me how it gave her munchies when she visited (I was using Creme brulee and butterscotch) but I feel like that may be part of the reason you're getting such a hard time.

Vape on! :vapor: Don't let them bother you.

Tell him about 0 nicotine juices. There is no reason to not try those, because it is a choice. Do or don't, FOR YOURSELF. Keep your damn nose out of mine & everyone else' business.

I respect those that have gone cold turkey. That is HARD!
But I draw the line at them denying me my right to choose for myself and let them know it.
