Not sure what I have

I bought my first vaping system last Saturday. The box says it's an Ego-T3 CE5. I know that means it's an Ego tank style, and I know it has the passthrough battery, and that's it. There were no instructions in the box and the sales guy didn't seem very comfortable speaking in "Foreigner" so I couldn't get questions answered very well.

Crappy cellphone pics (sorry):

Questions:
1. Is this the 900maH battery or the 1000maH? It's 10cm long overall, including the metal part with the button switch.
2. Does this thing have a clearomizer? (What is a clearomizer, anyway? Vs. a regular atty, I mean.)
3. Exactly how do I add juice? The guy in the shop put some inside the clear part along with squirting some through the little needle tube under the mouthpiece, but I'm not sure how to do it correctly myself.
4. How much juice should I add, and how do I tell how much I already have in it?
5. The button switch, when pressed rapidly five times, alternates between off, a red LED, and a blue-white LED. I understand the concept of "off" (heehee) but what are the other two modes?

TIA for helping a new vaper.

P.S. I got two bottles of juice with it: a smaller (I assume 10ml but the print on the label's too small to read) bottle of Custom Mixed brand (? nless they have their own, fancy labels printed: it looks like a commercial brand) Black Ice flavor, and a larger (20ml?) bottle of VapeTime brand Ecto Cooler. I prefer the latter of the two as the Black Ice tastes like honey and is quite sweet. It seems to be stronger in nicotine levels though. The Ecto Cooler has a light, slightly citrussy flavor that's very pleasant. I don't get much of a nicotine hit from it though. (The shop's owner told me via Facebook that he advises newbies to start with a 12% strength juice, for some reason. That's what the Ecto is, where the Ice is the next stronger: it's label just says "100%" with regards to its strength.

I was looking for juice that tasted like menthol cigarettes as that's what I'm used to smoking (around 1/2 pack a day) but after vaping throughout Saturday afternoon I came to the conclusion that, just as these are "vaping systems", not "electronic cigarettes" as they're a completely different nicotine-delivery system than cigs, my Ego can and should taste completely different than my analogs do. There's nothing wrong with fruit, coffee, chocolate, etc. flavored juice. I think I'll see if they have apple next time I buy, and there was a hazelnut coffee that smelled pretty good too: it reminded me of my morning cup of joe. :)

1. im not too familiar with this particular ego battery but atleast you have a usb passthru enabling you to use it while its charging and a much quicker charger vs. the one without a passthru.

2. the type of tank is a clearomizer, basically any type of tank that has wicking material(strands of silica wick usually 2) is a clearomizer.
atty is just in reference to the tank that attaches to the battery. there are different types. you have a clearomizer which has a top coil some have bottom coils, there are cartomizers which have filler material with the coil or coils inside the center tube, then for advanced vapers there are rebuildables that use either silica like your clearomizer or stainless steel mesh.

3. the only way to add juice would be to remove the drip tip( part that you place your lips on) if you do not have a blunt needle bottle tip (about a dollar at vape stores) you will need to slowly drip your juice into your tank with the tip of the bottle pointing towards the tank will trying to avoid getting juice over the metal nipple in the center at the top of your coil(where the wicks run into the center post)

4. you just need to fill the tank right up to where the wicks go into the center post. if you happen to over fill will the juice is settling from gravity simply vape it until flooding is vaporized. you will get less vapor while it is flooded and some gurgling sound. it's normal and will pass.

5. after turning on the battery (5 clicks) white should be you have a full charge above a certain percentage, blue means battery charge has dropped below a certain percentage, red means you need to charge it soon.

if the battery flashes rapidly while vaping it most likely is the overload protection and should turn itself off. it happens when the button is pressed for more than 10 seconds

since you have a usb passthru you don't need to wait til it's lighting up red. voltage does drop when the battery charge starts to run down so optimum performance will be while it's lighting white. it will still perform well while blue but you will notice a difference a little bit before it turns red. when it turns red you won't have much charge left and should definately charge it. also it's good to leave it charging even if the charge indicator turns off for another hour to really top the battery off.

i hope this helps

Wow, thanks for the fast reply!

I'm still not clear on a couple of things:

I put the juice in the area around the metal nipple after removing the mouthpiece? Won't it leak out through the mouthpiece when the unit is horizontal?

When I bump the battery button five times the LED either comes on red (when the button is pressed) or a kind of white/blue. I can cycle between those modes (as well as no LED lighting at all) by repeated five-presses. The red stays red even with the battery freshly and fully charged, when it's in "red mode." I don't understand what that "red mode" is.

Thanks again.

Your drip tip should have an o-ring on it and when inserted and screwed down it will form a seal with the silicone cap around the metal nipple part. As for your battery, I think you have an "upgrade" model. The blue mode should be regulated voltage at 3.7v(or 3.3v I'm not sure) and the red mode is unregulated which will start out at a higher voltage when fully charged and then gradually go lower as the battery drains.

OK, I think I may have answered my own questions, thanks to some Google-fu goodness. :) I found this link which say you do indeed fill the tank from around the metal vent nipple after removing the mouthpiece- you squirt drops of juice along the side of the translucent plastic thingy that the nipple sticks through and let it run down to the bottom of the tank. Apparently the mouthpiece itself provides a sufficient seal to prevent the juice from leaking.

That same page indicated that the always-red LED indicates a "standby" mode, whatever that is. It seems that after turning the unit on, or after removing and replacing the battery, it first comes on in that mode and you have to quick-press another five times to get it into working mode, which is the blue-white LED. (It appears that when the LED is supposed to be white, a little bit of the blue also shows. I thing I saw it change to all blue last night, before I recharged it. Now it's back to white with a trace of blue.
