I actually just saw these e-cigs today and I am very excited to purchase one. I am hoping this will work as a replacement for smoking or possibly help me stop smoking. I smoke about a pack a day (too much!!) and am looking for a suitable replacement for that. I have been reading a bit about these e- cigs but I have a few questions.

1) I am looking for an e-cig that looks similar to a normal cigarette and of course is portable. I noticed that some of them need to be hooked up to USB. I have heard good things about the 901 and 501 although the 901 appears to be bigger than a normal cig. I also saw on ecigaretteschoice.com the SS Choice No. 7 Micro starter kit. Any recomendations here, I am looking for a good product that hopefully will last, I don't mind spending extra money for a good product.

2) I am confused by all these flavor cartridge's and e-liquids. I believe that they are essentially the same thing just different options.

3) I have no clue which cartridge or liquid to get, I currently smoke Parliament lights and would like something as close to them as possible.

Sorry if this has been discussed before but I am bit overwhelmed with this new product. Thanks for the help!

I think you will be quite pleased with how easy it becomes to pick up an e-cig verses your standards (analogs as they are called here). I never even intended to scale back as suddenly as I did, it just happened!

All of the devices are portable. Chargers in a lot of cases use a USB port but many kits only come with a standard wall plug. What you may have also seen is a Passthrough. These are not required for any of the devices, just a really cool addon. Basically these function as a battery without the need to charge. You just plug it in to your USB port and start puffing. Some of us (myself included) use the passthrough all day while we are at our PCs and then switch to batteries for on the go.

2) I am confused by all these flavor cartridge's and E-liquids. I believe that they are essentially the same thing just different options.

I think we were all confused when we first started but it sounds like you have the right idea. You can order prefilled carts or blank ones to fill with ejuice or a combination of the two. You smoke the prefilled but top it off or refill with eliquid. Kind of like the difference between buying soda in a can and drinking it from the can verses buying a 2-liter and pouring yourself a glass.

3) I have no clue which cartridge or liquid to get, I currently smoke Parliament lights and would like something as close to them as possible.

I would recommend not limiting yourself to cigarette flavored carts/liquid. Some are better than others but none are exactly the same. I smoked P-funks too and now they taste awful to me. My favorite liquids are pear, almond joy, and pineapple. I don't even touch the cig flavored stuff though my husband does love his. Just keep your mind open and you might be surprised.

I am still overwhelmed myself! There is a ton of information and great products and vendors here. All that to say, I agree completely with my enthusiastic posting predecessor. Then Vapor King is the easiest way to start out because you are only dealing with two pieces instead of three. It is also really easy to grab a cartomizer or two and just go! If you decide you want to get into refilling you still can with these as well. Great warm vapor, awesome flavor, and easy to use. Who could ask for more? Also, Steve at Vapor4Life is a great guy and he will make sure you are taken care of and then some. Check out his Sub-forum, you will see why we are so vocal about promoting his store and his products. I have 5 other type e-cigs that now serve as a collective paperweight since I got my VK.

Welcome aboard!

What you heard about the good things of the 901 and the 510 are true. They are just a little bigger than a normal cigarette but that extra length gives you a larger battery and more time to vape. Both are available with manual batteries and that is much easier to learn than the auto battery processes. I'd recommend the 510 manual to start - and the best price right now is here:

Joye 510 with PCC

$35 for 2 full ecigs - 510, charger and 5 prefilled carts.

Also be sure to pick up some juice:
Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store.

When the cartridge runs out you just refill the cartridge (white filler part) from the bottle of ejuice.

Thanks for all the info, looks like I will try the Vapor King and maybe ill pick up a couple different flavors.

Great choice! VaporKing is the Bomb and Vapor4Life is a great vendor! If you are looking for as close an experience to analog as possible - you have to try the Marlboro's - they are awesome! Great throat hit at the 16mg level! Cappacino is my fave, but so far everything has been wonderful! I don't think you will be disappointed!

Please let us know how it goes, I havent heard a dissapointed V4L customer yet. It is defianatly my choice PV, I do use my 901 for taste testing my flavor concoctions before commiting a cart to them. The taste from the 901 is lighter with less throat "kick" and from everything I read the 501 has even lighter flavor, but has more throat kick/vapor than the 901. So With lots of flavor, vapor and throat kick all in one package I think the V4L vapor kings are the bomb.

BTW, I find the cartomizers just as easy to refill as the carts for my 901.
