I'm only about a week into vaping. At first it was satisfying my analog addiction but today's been pretty tough, The only flavor I can taste is Menthol and I'm getting sick of the taste. That was the first flavor I tried since it had the highest nic level. Now a couple of days later I'm trying different flavors and I'm just not tasting it. Is it just me? Is it the juice I'm using or is that just how it is? If I really concentrate I can taste a hint of flavor or maybe it's just wishful thinking and my imagination to keep myself off the analogs?
How much flavoring do you more experienced vapors get out of your juice? Is it just me? Thanks for the help in advance.

It varies from vendor to vendor, how much flavoring they use (and which particular source of the flavoring).

You may well be going through typical taste bud "blech" days. It's very common, typically lasts a day or two, over the first X months, that you'll hit a dead day where nothing much comes through. A strong cinnamon, menthol, peppermint may work, otherwise just use it to vape some eliquid that you otherwise didn't like the flavor of (since you cannot taste it anyway).

Gargling with mouth wash, brushing your tongue, have been suggested by some, beats me, it just happens (but gets infrequent over time).

Some days are BVDs (Bad Vape Days). Nothing tastes right and it's frustrating. I read here about using flavorless juice with nic on those days. Gosh, that helped me a lot. It'll also cut back on the amount you vape because there's no yummy flavor to chase.

You need water and lots of it. If you're not a water drinker you may have to fill a jug each day to make sure you're getting what you need. Vaping dehydrates you. As far as I can tell, that's the only downside. Tasebuds losing their ability to taste your juice's flavor is a symptom of not enough water according to heavy vapers. They're not docs but I trust the judgement of those who have been at it a while.

Hope tomorrow is a Happy Vape Day for you :)

What ecig are you using? Some people have problems getting good flavor from tanks. If you are using any kind of atomizer, I had to alternate attys weekly and clean the used one to get the flavor back. Some instead rinse the atty they are using nightly. I now use cartomizers.

The more nic, the less the flavor will shine through. If your ecig isn't strong enough for you, consider buying a better ecig.

The more VG, the more flavor will be dulled.

If you keep vaping the same flavor over and over and over, you will be used to it and not taste it. I vape 2 contrasting flavors in cartomizers so they are totally separate.

If you don't smell the vapor, then you will miss much of the flavor. The human tongue can only taste sweet, salty, bitter, sour and umami (MSG). If a fan or wind prevents you from smelling the vapor, try exhaling through your nose. Ditto if other aromas around you prevent you from smelling the vapor.

If you are using high nic your tongue (or mouth, throat, lungs) can get sore and numb and that can dull flavors.

Different juices and even juices within the same vendor have differing amounts of flavor. Some people like light flavor for all day vapes. Some like stronger flavor. Try other juices.

other things that can kill flavor - stuffed nose, food or drink flavors in your mouth. alcohol drinks, hot drinks, dirty atomizers or singed cartomizers

Remember to drink plenty of fluids - vaping can be drying. A drink of ice water can help refresh my palate.

As I said above - I vape 2 contrasting flavors in cartomizers so they are totally separate. Each refreshes my palate to taste the other. That is what worked for me to not get used to a flavor.

Also, if you're just coming off of cigarettes, your tastebuds can start playing up, too. I went through the exact same thing about a week in; my juices started tasting literally like nothing at all, and I also posted a question about it. It's normal, it happens to a lot of people, and your tastebuds come back. They're just recovering from years of smoke abuse. :) So, it could be that, too.

I found that I couldn't taste any juices other than menthol at first, kept wondering if I had bought the right kit! I was so jealous of people talking about great tastes when all I had was my minty freshness! Two weeks in and that tasted awful. I stuck with it and within two days it was like my tastebuds changed and I finally got what people were talking about! Now enjoying pink spot, and freedom vapes and my own DIY juices! Stick with it and keep the water flowing!

About the only flavors I could taste my first week with the Joye eGo-T was menthol and english toffee both VG from americaneliquidstore.com

I still go through the english toffee pretty quick and still like the menthol, everyone's taste varies, you could try something that a lot of people love and you can't stand it, it has happened to me.
