I recently bought a eleaf istick, a kayfun lite 3 EHPro clone and some juices from mountbaker after cleaning the Ehpro out because I was getting a really bad taste with hawksauce and trying more/less cotton, I can't seem to get any good flavor at all and I'm thinking about returning everything and just not wasting money or buying a naut mini so it's hassle free, the flavor was just awful and like nothing I expected compared to the smell of the juice atleast

That's unusual. Perhaps, it's the juice. Did you allow the juice to steep for a bit of time or did you use straight out of the mailbox?

I made sure the wick was really wet when I built it and I let it sit for a bit, not that long. I've used a lot of e cigs in the past the throw aways that taste awful and it had the same type of flavor
Did you soak in alcohol first to make sure there wasn't any machine oil left over from the machining process?
i washed all the parts in warm soapy water for about 30 mins I dont know if thats good enough
Soak in alcohol (rubbing alcohol or cheep vodka) then rinse with water. Watch that video I posted and wick it like that.

Instead of continuing to play mail-order roulette, is there any chance you could get to a B&M store to do some hands-on testing. Around here, stores offer try-before-you-buy on everything from hardware to juice.
Even if you have to drive an hour or two, it would be well worth it to get a setup and liquids that really work.

I agree! Especially on the liquid. I don't buy my liquid online anymore. Got really sick and tired of getting disgusting juice. I try all the juice I buy before I buy it.
Does it have a chemical taste? Is it taste bad right away? I've used MBV juices in the past and some tasted weird. I stopped using it and went to other vendors. Sometimes it takes a while to find flavors that you like. The best thing is to go to a vape shop and try other brands and flavors. There's nothing wrong with your equipment. Sounds like you're wicking just fine too. A Nautilus tank isn't going to change the flavor of juice that you don't like.
It may just be the juice, some do just taste like dumpster juice despite smelling delicious when you sniff the bottle.
Against my better judgement I thought I would give Dekang 50/50 strawberry milk a try, it did smell like a lovely milkshake, put it in the Kayfun and it tasted like I was vaping fizzy vomit.

Yep, some juice smells good in the bottle but taste like crap in the kayfun. I've even tried some juices at the tasting bar in their test tanks (evod) and they tasted good... but once I put them in the kayfun they were too strong. I had to cut them with unflavored juice to be able to vape them in the kayfun.

I can still return this clone for a full refind and pick up a naut mini but I don't know if thats going to solve anything

You need to steep EVERYTHING you buy from them properly for a couple of weeks before you vape it. They even state that multiple places on their site. If you havent steep your juice from them...do that first, because if the juice is the problem, it does not matter what hardware you use.. it will all taste "wrong".

I never found a juice I really liked until I started mixing my own and was able to control the amount of flavour. Early on most of the juice I ordered on-line (after considerable research) was disgusting (at least to me). I saw one company that offers a sample pack of 60 some odd juice flavours (5 ml of each). I think that is the only way I would ever buy juice without trying it first again. Of course improper labelling or lack of any meaningful labelling means I don't even buy juice I can taste first at my local B&M as I have no idea what is in it (nor do they).
all the juices were made on the 7th of this month and have been sitting in my dark room since the 9th but caps have been on
