There is a tonof new product hitting the market and I am reluctant to pick something up thatis new an unproven. Owning a REO I have really come to like the smaller box PV.Easy to carry around, good size, fits well in your hand and doesn’t look like alight saber.

So far I haveresearched several with the Vaporshark catching my eye but they get mixedreviews. I’m really looking for something small (not the dna), 30 watts orbetter and excellent construction and reliability. I want to use it for both tanks and drippers.

I’m hoping thatthe folks here can point me in the right direction.

And yes I diddo a site search, topics are both positive and negative, some even discusshaving to rebuild new mod’s because of overheating. Looking for reliability andI don’t what to have to rebuild a new PV.

Thanks

Thanks exnihilo.

I am really looking for something that has been out there a while and is proven. I looked at the Dovpo E-LVT but it didn't have the wattage and the metering chip has a reported problem of as much as .7 ohms. The Cloupor DNA 30 has a report switch problem. I'm looking for something like the IPV 50 Watt or Vaporshark for size and function but has been around the block a while and is proven.

None of the 30+ watt devices have the excellent reputation for reliability and customer service that the Reo has.

I've decided to pick up an iPV 50 watt box mod with the YiHi 330 chip for use now while waiting to to see if a sterling manufacturer or mod maker rises above the crowd in the next few months with a high quality product as well as customer service. The iPv 50 watt has a year warranty with a U.S. based service center. Elev8 has them on preorder for $80. Fluidvapes has some in stock for $99.

If you don't mind waiting it looks like they will be coming out with a smaller box for the IPV 35 watt.

YiHi chips from their SX line which have been used in previous mods have had a very respectable track record.

Probably have to go with one of the custom builders and have it specifically made with the exact components you want , i don't know of any super reliable very small form factor box mod that fits your specs but there are many owners who swear by certain small custom mod makers but unsure of the exact mods names.

You may get a better variety of answers in the "ask the veterans " forums or ask directly in the "where can i get " forums.

There will likely be many months of waiting to get a custom mod made by any maker with an established track record of customer service. I've got a couple of SX350 mods coming fairly soon but if either of the mod makers is even around a year from now to service them I would count myself very fortunate.

Understood , he didn't mention he needs it asap though , a custom mod maker most likely will produce a higher quality mod that remains reliable over anything mass produced .

I'm surprised he even wants another mod since he has a Reo , everytime i read about someone who has one says it's the bomb and they never use anything else .

My REO is used every day and is just as you described, the bomb. I do use other PV's when I am doing something where I don't want to put my baby at risk or I need to have a closed topper. My REO is the exact reason I want to go with another box mod, perfect for the pocket and in the hand. Sitting at my desk vaping her right now with Open Source Vapors Blueberries and Crème. Nothing can touch the quality of the vape but it's not the only PV I use or own. And Herb, I have 8 other mods besides the REO. The answer may be the REO LP.

The Vapor Shark DNA caught my eye but the warranty for a domestic company and built in battery had gave me second thoughts so I figured I would ask opinions here.

You are asking for us to read the future. All of the new over 30 watt mods just came out. So nothing is proven. The only thing I know that has a little tme out and is rock solid is the SX350 chip, but that would require you to build the box yourself. YiHi seems to build super quality chips! That being said, I would go with an sx330 chip mod. That is what the ipv has. Or wait for Sigelei's 100w box mod coming out soon.

Also a little confused. You said Not a DNA, but then say the Vapershark caught your eye? It has a DNA30 in it??

Fegbri I am looking for folks that have the PV that can tell me what they think. There are not many reviews out there right now and folks feedback from ECF is pretty damn good.

I keep going back and looking at the vapor shark and have the IPV. Both have a small profile and that's what I am really looking at if/when I make the purchase.

The 50W IPV offers a year warranty and has interchangeable batteries @ right around $100. I found some in stock but again not much information and as you correctly pointed out pretty new and unproven. Damn shame one of you folks don't have a crystal ball. Again I was just hoping someone had something along those lines that could give me feedback.

I was looking at the 30 Watt Box Mod DNA30 by Cloupor but it looks like it is having some problems with the switch and components coming loose that are hot glued. It's a little bigger then I was looking for too.

This is more of a search and destroy for information and feedback before I make a purchase.

I have the clouper, and even with all of its quirks, I have used it daily for almost 2 months straight with no issues. Never once let me down!

If I was buying one right now, I would go with the ipv. It is a combo of Pioneer 4 U (the seven22 and seven30) and YiHi (Sx chips) which IMO are the best chips out right now. With the 1 year warranty it is a no brainer!

Other than that, Evolve is coming out with thier new chip soon, that is supposed to be a "game changer". But not sure how one could improve on the SX350 as far as specs go. Maybe it will hold 3 flavors and you can switch with the flip a a switch! Ha! Always been my dream...a multi flavored device. Pipe dreams!

Good luck!

Hey i fully understand , i was just busting balls about the Reo , i have yet to find anybody who has one that doesn't think it's the be end end all and deservedly so.

Maybe someday for me as well , good luck on your search , hope you find exactly what your looking for , wish i could be more helpful.

Seems to me Marc wants no part of being a beta tester , while the IPV's certainly look great on paper lots of things look good on paper and turn out to be anything but great .

Like you said not much Marc can do except wait and determine at some time in the future if these mods turn out to be reliable mostly trouble free devices.

Side note: Some SX chips seem to be having some issues and it's being discussed on other forums , i have been following them with curiosity but it's still early.

Thanks Herb, and I took it as intended cuz the ball busting is all a part of it.

And it's funny, I bought my wife the MVP 2 and that's a solid little PV. If she leaves it laying around I pick it up and walk away. Hers is more of a head rush, she's vaping 18 mg and I'm vaping 6 mg.

Maybe it's just the rush I'm after and the mod is a bonus.

What are you averse to the DNA? I've got a vaporshark and love it. I haven't had the any overheating issue, my only problem was that something fried internally and it wouldn't take a charge. I got a shipping label from them and sent it out for repair, a week later I've got it back.

Also someone mentioned the rdna, but you can change your own battery in the vaporshark DNA30 if you wanted. There's a link in the thread to somewhere that sells them for 2.50 a piece.

I don't mind being a lab rat or beta tester. I ordered my first box mod this week and 2 rebuildable tanks (fogger and Kaiser)
Stepping up game form a Vamo v5 and Kanger mega (1.5 ohm coils). Cross your fingers.

Ordered from vapecompany. My new black iPV2 (50 watt) is supposedly on the way. Yahoo. Obsessing and stalking the mailbox. (anybody relate?)

BTW... I am in communication with two WRAP companies JWRAPS and VAPORSKINZ about a custom wrap for this new mod.
They are both working on it. The more inquries direct to them the better. Thanks for shooting them a plea.

Sort of thinking a black carbon fiber would look sharp.
