:) Greetings!

Soooooo glad I found this forum. Lots still to learn and glean from these pages.

Gave up analogs 2 months ago after 46 years of smoking. Yes.. 46 years !!! And I didn't start 'til I was 18, so yeh... I'm an oldie but goodie. :D
HAD to quit, too. Doc found major ulcers in my esophagus and stomach, lots of inflammation as well. Told me if I didn't quit, this would all be cancer in another couple years. Esophageal cancer has increased 600% in the past decade or so. And like me, many have NO symptoms... until it's too late. I never even had as much as a bout of indigestion, much less heartburn or any GERD symptoms whatsoever.
So.. being the good nurse that I am, I decided it was high time to follow the advice I have always given to all of my patients... QUIT SMOKING !!!! :thumb:

Tried several of the off brand e-cigs available at the local gas stations and food marts ... they worked for awhile. But was getting annoyed with having to buy cartridges all the time. Then I found something online about being able to refill them yourself... WOW. That was good news indeed! Came across the Halo site and ordered my first e-juice. Yay !!! That was about a month ago. Again, I wasn't satisfied, as I was refilling nasty, cheapo polyfiber cartridges all the time and after awhile they began to taste funky. Didn't last long, either, and I was constantly filling and refilling. So I went back to the Halo website and had myself a longer look, hoping to find a better e-cig to replace the half dozen crappy off brand ones I had picked up here and there. I ordered the G6 starter kit. And got really adventurous and ordered the mini tank with it.

O.......M.......G !!!!!! Best decision I ever made!
These cigs, (but more specifically, the Mini Tank) are AMAZING !!! What difference! I am now fully satisfied. 100%. Getting that real throat hit.. which is what I crave most in smoking. Of course the lovely amount of vapor is totally awesome as well. I am one HAPPY customer!

Went back and ordered a mini drip tip and more juice flavors. Up until now have done only Mystic menthol (and I'm not a menthol smoker) but menthol in the off brand cigs were more tolerable than their tobacco flavor ones. But now I'm going to try to mix it up a bit. Want to try some of the different varieties and see what I like. Can't wait.

As another poster said.. it's hard to read the threads here without getting all excited and running back and ordering more stuff! :p
But it's so worth it. The products are superb, the prices are fair. Love that they lowered the G6 starter kit prices, too. That was a clincher for me. So glad I ordered it. Even more glad I ordered the mini-tank!!! What a difference it makes!

OK.. outta here for now. THANK YOU, Halo !!! :toast:

Welcome! I am a newbee too but have been learning the ropes. Like you mentioned with the menthol, for me it was the other flavors that are great. Started with a few tobacco flavors but I am enjoying the irish cream, strawberry cheesecake and others. I use a mini tank too but am dripping to test and around the house.

Thanx for the welcomes and well wishes. :)

Yes, my health DOES thank me. Have wanted to quit for years and years. As a nurse, I know only too well how harmful smoking is to one's body, and not just our lungs. Not to mention how hypocritical I always felt being in the health profession and smoking. Hated the nasty smell of smoke clinging to my clothes, my breath smelling like an ash tray. Truly.. I hated it. ALL of it. Wouldn't even smoke in my car (and certainly not our home!) because I didn't want my car or home smelling like that. But then I'd have to pull off every couple hours and have a smoke.. and go smoke outdoors in freezing temps when at home. So crazy.

But no more! lol Now I can smoke anytime, anywhere. No more freaking out being stuck at an airport for endless hours knowing there is no smoking allowed ANYWHERE. That in itself was enough to make me want to smoke an entire pack right then and there!!!

As far as e-cigs, not having any issues yet.. everything seems pretty common sense.. just fill and smoke 'em !!!
I do have one question though... what does a drip tip do differently and just what is dripping, anyway? Appreciate your input.
I HAVE found out how much difference a mini tank makes as compared to the cartridges... both in flavor and in vapor. Best thing ever! So now I'm curious about the drip tip, as it hasn't arrived with my new order yet ... Thanx in advance!

Welcome to EFC!

I got through my first month off analogs with a slew of non-tobacco flavors my favs back then were Green Apple, RY4, Cinnamon Hot Tamale and a couple more from MBV

Then I found a site that makes Naturally Extracted Tobacco (NET) flavors that I think are out of this world! Heather's Heavenly Vapes. If burning pipe or cigar tobacco tasted this good, I would never have given up smoking. Thank goodness, analog smoke tastes like dung to me now compared to e-juices.

Just in case you're interested here's a list of HHV NETs:

Serendipity
Pirate's Booty
Gandalf = Legend (new name)
Shadow
Gollum = Sludge (new name)
Huntsman
Dark Horse
Jiggy
Dragon's Fire
Heavenly Army
Oompa

Their non-tobaccos are great as well with flavors like White Lie (coconut & pear); Caramel Cappuccino; Waffles (that you can add you own flavors to) and Cin City (cinnamon bun) etc., etc.

Have a good weekend, folks.:2cool:

Oh.. and... have any of you run into any problems vaping out in public anywhere? I remember the last time I was at an airport and still had my off brand e-cigs, I would go the the ladies room and smoke behind the stall door. Was afraid someone would come scold or arrest me. I know I can prove these are not "cigarettes", but not familiar yet with how the "public" reacts to them...in public spaces. Would love to vape in a restaurant or airport one time just to see what would happen, but still too chicken. :p

I live in a "behind the times" neck of the woods as it is, it wasn't until 2 years ago anyone here ever saw or even sold the basic gas station brand e-cig. So they're not all that common yet here...thus my hesitance to just "light one up" in a public building. But then there's that OTHER side of me...... which would love nothing more than to do just that !!! Hahahahaaaaaaaaaaaa !!! :headbang:

Thanx, Chakris. :)

Not really into the sweet flavors at all, nor the fruity ones. I might try a mango some day, as it's probably rather benign.. just a hint of fruit flavor. That's the only fruity one I think I might enjoy.

I could see myself trying just a hint of cocoa or choco mint, however. Not into butterscotch and caramels and all that. I'll be looking around to see what is out there. A semi sweet turkish tobacco sounds good to me... and I'll probably do some mixing as well. Thank you for the info, however. ;)

Hmmmm.... geeeeeeeesh.... looking through some of the ad sites here, and omg. :w00t:

I see all KINDS of pretties! This could become an addiction in itself! All the different styles and finishes and tanks and tips... *sigh*
Guess I'll be starting a wish list....yes, methinks I'll be starting a collection soon. Rewards. For each month smoke free, I do deserve a little reward, yes? One little addition to my "collection" each month. ;)

Congrats on your vaping! I smoked 30 years and quit 2 years ago with Ecigs. I enjoy vaping more than I ever did smoking and have been able to lower my nic. In answer to your question about drip tips, I started on refillable cartomizers with the little plastic flat top and tiny hole in the middle. I thought drip tips were just for looks. I finally got one and was shocked how much more flavor and vapor I got through the bigger mouthpiece than I had from the tiny hole in the cartomizers. Also, a drip tip does what it gets its name from, you can drip juice into it while using an atomizer which has a coil on the bottom for dripping juice on and no filler like a cartomizer has. It's like a cartomizer without the filler. But I think mostly now drip tips are used as a simple mouth piece for clearomizers as well. In the beginning, however, they were mainly used for atomizers because there weren't any cleoromizers around. :)

Welcome to the boards. I too was a long time smoker. I tried e-cigs several times since 2004 but they weren't quite yet ready for me yet. When I tried again this year -Bam, hit the nail right on the head. lol Congrats on quitting!

I also thought at first I would not like the sweeter e-juices but after going to a few B&M stores and having the opportunity to try a few flavors I changed my mind. The 1st sweet juice I got was a Cinnamon Gingerbread that is a little sharp like ginger but has the tang of cinnamon. I vape it after dinner. Yumm! I also now enjoy a few juices with a touch of caramel or cream, it seems to make the juice smoother. YMMV. If you can get to a B&M to taste different flavors I'd highly recommend it.

And yes, it is hard not to keep going back for more hardware, but for me I really like going to my local shop and tasting more flavors especially since my taste buds have gone through some changes and things that I didn't like last week taste different this week. :)

Hello everyone,
I'm new on this forum and am soooo glad I found you guys!
I've learned so much just reading all the informative posts.
So I'm going on 3 months without an analog, now and don't see myself going back! I started out with a 1300mAh Vision Spinner + a Knanger T3 BC Clearo... but after reading the posts here I had to venture into the realm of VV + RBAs!
Recently got a eVic + AGA T2 and this is my first wick and coil using #400 mesh + Ribbon Kanthal...

OK.. still a bit confused why the terminology. Atomizer? Cartomizer (that the simple cartridge, right? With the flat top and poly fiber?) What's the atomizer, then?

I did order (and LOVVVVVVE) the mini tank for my Halo G6. It's clear and you just pour the liquid into it up to the graduated lines. Has a little black tip on it at the top as well. Love it. Tastes SO much better, and much more throat hit and vapor as well. I no longer can go with the regular cartomizers.... bleh. And I really don't like the filler stuff, either. Gets nasty tasting after you refill it a few times.

So is a drip tip basically the same thing then, only its function is more of a tip (without filler) which you can drip liquid into as opposed to a "tank" which holds a bit more? I also noticed with the mini tank I seem to get more nicotine as well, so I may be cutting down a bit on the nic amount next time I order my e-juice.

And what is a "clearomizer"? I've seen that term a lot, too. Is it the same as my clear "mini tank"? Or is it the tank like piece with the thready things sticking out which absorb the liquid....Still learning, so lots of questions. I'm a quick learner, though, so bear with me. And yes... I already know I'm loving vaping instead of smoking! Can't wait to try some new flavors. :D

Yeh.... I actually might enjoy some cheesecake flavor now that I'm thinking about it... a hint of vanilla cream, choco mint perhaps... will try some of these. Where I live out in the sticks we're lucky to have a few gas station stores that carry just the most basic e-cigs.. no hopes for "flavor shops" any time soon. I wish !!! What's a B&M store, and where can I find one? I guess I can Google it. ;) Thanx for the input! :)
