Nothing to do with vaping, but wanted to share since it's strange to me!

Some of you know that I'm a full-time online college instructor. Between my seven courses this quarter, I have seven students named Jennifer. All seven go by Jenn. I realize that's not unusual, since it's a common nickname.

This is what's strange to me: In the platform the college uses (eCollege), students can select the font, color, size, etc. All seven students use Verdana, size 10, dark blue.

No need to respond; I just thought I'd share this recent discovery since hubby doesn't seem interested. :)

Hey vg....I'll have to check with my sister...about a week after she gets the laptop I ordered for her....to see if she's using 10, verdana, blue....yes...she's a Jenn too.....

I'm not that surprised though....I think Verdana is the best font....well...unless I'm looking for over the top....then I'd go with Matura MT Script Capital.... k....now I know I'm a dork...

even worse I just spent two hours cleaning the kitchen on my hands and knees and I'm only halfway done...with the floor....someone kill me now....

Everyone - I'm so glad that I'm not the only person to find this odd!

Maureen - My favorite font is Verdana too! It's so much more eye appealing than other fonts. So, let us know about your sister!

I forget to mention in my first post that I also use Verdana, size 10, dark blue. In the beginning of the course, I figured that perhaps one or two of the "Jenns" were imitating me. I realize now though that this is their preferred font. Something else; all of the "Jenn's" write well and are acing their classes. I don't even need to check grammar/spelling when I'm grading their work!

If only the person who lived here before me was like me...DO IT ONCE...DO IT RIGHT....nope...not so much....can you say...half ... it??? I'm getting tired of fixing half ... stuff....

I think the two of us are a lot alike. :)

That's exactly how our house was when we moved in! Everything was fixed half assed. We did so much work in the first two years after moving in. Also, every now and then, we still uncover problems! The latest is electrical wiring. Not a cheap fix; eventually we'll need to rewire our entire house. We don't have the money right now as it will cost approx. $10,000! The reason for the high cost is because our house is historic and we have to leave the plaster stucco walls in place.

I'm beginning to think that maybe we should have twilight zone music playing in the background. I too teach full-time online and just finished marking finals. I just went back to check and over half of my Jenn's use that font. Strange --- very strange! What really makes it strange is almost no other students changed their default font.

Very strange!!! Like you, I've noticed that most students don't change the default font. So, I wonder what's going on with the 'Jenn' students? All mine are undergrad.; are your students also undergrad?

Bobbye - So no connection with courses. I'm truly perplexed about the 'Jenn' thing. I highly doubt that there's any research on this as it's too strange. I'm working on my Ph.D., but highly doubt that my mentor would be enthuised with a new interest; 'Jenn students using Verdana font, size 10, blue.' Still interesting to me though...

By the way, is that your cat in your avatar picture? He/she is beautiful!
