This worked absolutely brilliantly for me, thanks Rondo!!!

I don't know if anyone has tried this, but it works for me. I put about a half teaspoon of baking soda into the atty and then pour in some white vinegar. I then immediately plug the opening with my thumb which causes the volcano pressure to exit out the little connector hole. I repeat this a few times and the atty looks brand new, all odors are gone. I rinse with a little hot water, blow it out and I'm good to go. Atty is fresh as a new one.

Gonna have to give this a try with my tornado t atty. HAS to be easier than taking it apart!!! I tried cleaning yesterday and my wick fell apart when I tried putting it back in not to mention getting the plate out in the first place.

I used to do this with pennies when I was growing up. Made them all shiney and it was fun watching it bubble and run over the container!! lol

So i tried this Baking soda method and the atty seems to be working fine, but now i have this nasty burnt taste. i dont know if its from the baking soda or vinegar. I didnt have any concentrated lemon juice, but i just squeezed a fresh lemon and used a couple drops of what came out. That shouldnt hurt it right? it has only been about 24 hours tho since I tried this method, maybe the wick is still wet and thats why im getting this burnt taste? Anybody have this problem or know if real lemon juice is okay instead of concentrate?

Hi all.
I haven't used atties for a long time (using cartomizers and previously ego-t)
but my experience with cleaning is unless you let it dry COMPLETELY before using you will always get weird results.
so after cleaning, leave your atties in the sun for a day or two/ oven, dehydrator or whatever you can do to ensure theyre completely dry.
Once thats done, put a drop or two to the wick (this will avoid burning the little juice that was absorbed and having to clean the atty all over again).

If the atty is not getting hot enough, no amount of cleaning will help, just bin it.

Cleaning will only work for atties that the coil is working as should but JUST tasting funny.

I had few atties that were sitting in the cupboard totally clogged, but still alive (sort of). - EgoT, EgoT type B, ego510 T and a few 510 atties.. .. did the bicarb and vinegar and every one is firing like new-even the egoT. I couldnt believe how effectively it worked to tell the truth, but as they were going to be binned I thought it worth a try,
One atty didnt makethe transition but it was weak and wobbly when new. Made sure they were all very dry by putting them on the DVD player to dry for a couple of days and 'voila.!
(Many thanks to the OP,)

so i realized that it wasnt any baking soda, or vinegar that was left in my atty. but it was still wet, and i started vaping prematurely thus bad taste. tried it on my other atty, and it worked awesome, but you have to let it dry completely! And then make sure the wick gets soaked or you will have bad taste.

I do have one concern tho, isnt the pressure shooting out the battery end from the reaction bad for the wick? isnt it possible that the force of the liquid coming out can dislodge the wick or move it out of the spike thing?

I dont really think it can, but when i was rinsing i filled the spike end with water, and blew through one of my Ego-T atties and now its sorta making a funny gurgling sound. i think i blew too hard and may have dislodged the wick, might have to perform an operation. next time ill do it softer or maybe not at all.

learn from this!

I run an eGo-C and have a poopload of flavors arriving tomorrow. I think I'm going to try this method.
I'm thinking this could be a real boon to C owners as the C's ship with 5 atomizers and would allow you to continually clean, dry, and rotate usage. No more "You put chocolate in my peanut butter!" arguments...

I'm going to try this. TY for this idea. ;)

ummm just curious on something here the mesh metal that covers the wicks (where juice drips on it) in ego Ts Cs is like nickel plated or something to that effect also atties with bridges either way its metal? Wouldn't the acetic acid of vinegar corrode this and cause it to break down over time?? It sounds interesting to try as I still have a few laying around here but totally gave up on ego-Ts as they never seem to last for me?
