Hello there.. its me again :p
I joined recently new to ecigs and the forum and have to thank ya'll again for the kindness and help that everyone has given. I recieved my order of 510 atomizers and drip tips today. Which seems to get me out of a bind with the problem with my tornado tank not working..so woooooot yay me and thank ya'll.

So next thing is the juices.. I quit smoking about 3 yrs or so ago, after smoking for 30 years or so. I found I can do without the nicotine and prefer not to do without the smoking so here I am lol. I find that I require it to put out a decent amount of vapor and I have always had rather dull taste buds. I require more spices than most people around me. I am not as sensitive to jalapeno and spicy foods. Actually when others are sputtering about the spicy I am adding cajun seasoning to everything lol. I just mention that to say that I tend to go for rather strong tastes. I bought a nice lil watermelon juice that was so mild almost non existant actually. But cant blame the juice since I know my taste buds are dead, as everyone tells me ... So my questions about juice..

1. I am not really sure what the pg/vg blend ratio does for the product. So not really sure what I should be looking for as far as the ration goes.

2. I noticed that some vendors dont specify a ratio while some offer choices as to what ratio you want.
So again not sure if this makes a difference to me.

3. I would like to find a nice menthol juice.. I use to smoke More Menthol... yummmm lol
ok.. forget I said that but seriously if anyone has any suggestions ..

4. Is it true with zero nicotine you just dont get the throat hit ?

5. I am not limited to the menthol that I am looking for, I am testing other flavors and having a great time.
But is there a vendor that might be well known for the bolder tastes in juices.

Just trying to get a handle on the juice thing.. and thanks again for all the help

From what you've described you should probably consider DIY. Order up some PG and VG bases, grab some flavors and mix away. With no nic needed you can save yourself money and add as much flavor as you need, at least until your taste buds start working again. Also, you can get some real menthol crystals to add to the juice, which will help with the throat hit and authentic flavor.

Wow! Sounds like you've burned your tastebuds off with all the spices! If I even look at the pepper shaker I get heartburn for a week...

PG gives you more flavor and some say more throat hit. VG gives you more vapor. I personally like 80% PG/20% VG which gives me plenty of vapor, but 70%PG/30% VG is very popular.

Menthol, peppermint and cinnamon are bolder flavors, I think, and can all help to make up for at least some of the throat hit you'd lose from zero nicotine.

The higher the VG% the more vapor you will get

Other Places
PG - sweeter and flavor enhancer
VG - vapor producer but tends to mute flavors.

I usually vape 70/30 or 80/20 PG/VG.

Freedomsmokeusa gives you a 1X flavor option. Also, vermillionriver has really nice strong flavors IMO.

Here is list of vendors that have samplers:

1. PG is thin and lets through the most of nicotine TH and skin irritation, the most flavor, but has little vapor. VG is thick and dulls TH, irritation and flavor while adding thicker more persistant visible vapor. Tanks and cartos seems to work best with 20-30% VG in the juice. On atomizers I like 20-50% VG. But I find my stuffing-type cartomizers work best with 20% or less VG and juices that leave no sediment.

2. I usually do not buy from places that don't say what their PG/VG is because they may just be relabeled Dekang Chinese juices
The on exception is Vapor4Life - Their WOW juices are thin and great in cartomizers. Many of the flavor don't thjrill me but there are a few I really like and I don't care what the PG/VG is because they work great in my cartomizers

3. I don't know menthols

4. No nic, no TH. however, some flavors have throat sensations even at 0 nic - like mint, menthol, ginger, cinnamon, other spices

5. Bolder taste? dunno. Seems to vary between flavors and each vendor. I can tell you Backwoods Brew is NOT known for bold flavor because they are known for all-day vapes. Some of Vapor4Life's WOW juices are overly bold. SOme places I have bought add too much flavor and then the juice is bitter or flowery.

I have lazy taste buds also but find that the fruity flavors like strawberry, double cherry & caramel apple seem to be strong enough for me to taste. Like someone said, DIY is probably your best bet. There are e juice calculators floating around here somewhere. Here is a link to one: e-Juice Calculator | ecigexpress
