now that you vape, do you put it down?

Unlike when I was smoking analogs, I find it so much easier to go for long periods of not vaping during the course of a day, than it was to stop smoking. I do my chain-vaping thing on my commute to and from work, or on weekends; I also found, if I'm in a space where I can't vape (hospitals, certain offices, etc.) I don't have that crazy urge to step outside in a blizzard for a few puffs. So, I allow my chain vaping to happen when it happens. It's all good.

My office is in my house, and when I'm on the computer (all hours of the day & night), I'm vaping.
I really don't need it though like I did analogs...I'm sometimes surprised that I can go many hours without the urge to hit the PV when I'm away from home, but on long trips I only stop to refill my tanks (in the truck & in my PV).

Chain vaper here too. I keep telling myself 'its because it's new' since I've only been at it a few weeks, but the truth is, the juices I have are really yummy and I never get tired of them. I vape all day long, even at work at my desk. Like others, when I can't I don't crave it like analogs.

That is why I found out early starter kits with filled cartomizers weren't going to work. I have a tank system now, and have a 22mm tank going with my favorite juice all the time.

Even with chain vaping, I don't go to bed at night with a tight chest or wake up with morning cough like I did with cigs.

Beckyblue: Yes it does. I was 1-1/2 pack a day smoker, started with 24mg nic level. Still had a cig once in awhile the first week or so, but am finding it easier not to as I go along.

What level of nic do you currently use? When I firs started, I was at 18 mg, and still wanted to smoke cigarettes, and was vaping constantly. I went to 24 mg and it cured my cig addiction, and didn't vape quite as often. I have now tapered down to 18 mg again. I will probably go to 14 mg soon.

For you fellow chain-vapers, does upping the nic curb the habit? And, if so, what mg level did it? Just curious:).

I was the same - started at 18, went to 24, but actually didn't find I was vaping any less. Went back to 18, then started reducing was down to 6mg before the eroll. When I got that 6mg wasn't enough and went quite high nic. Backing it down again.

Yeah, as you can see by my join date, I've been at this a while, but I had a long, shameful stretch off the wagon. I do feel sorta bad about posting in the sub-forum reserved for new members, other than to just post some help and welcomes. I've downed it to 12 mg, but the chain-vaping is at a pretty kooky level. Think I'm going to stop beating myself up about pushing it back to 18 mg to see if I can put the thing down:p!

If you are a chain vaper, like me, it is a good idea to slowly lower the nic content of your juice. Large amounts of nic is not good for you in the long run. Slowly.

I've been vaping for a year and a half. I've gone from 24mg to 6mg in very small slow increments. My BP is borderline and I don't want anything that could push it over the edge.

I may take it down to 4mg in the next month or two. I don't see myself going zero nic.

I've started out on 20mg levels, and i put it down more often than I do now because of that spicy nicotine lingering in your mouth. I've been vaping for almost half a year now and i've been dilluting (mixing 12mg with zero) til I hardly had that spicy feeling. I now buy stock 6mg and it has turned me into a bit of a chainvaper because my mouth or windpipe aren't telling me to stop. I sometimes chainvape for 10 to 30 minutes, then put it down for another 10-30 minutes. I don't really keep track, but I only feel a real urge to vape when I've not touched it for around 2 hours. I've been coming from a pack of heavy smokes a day (25 cigs or more), that's about 1 smoke every 30 minutes.
Be careful not to dose yourself too highly on the nicotine, it makes your heart race a little and gives an overal sense of pressure. (like cafeine OD or chainsmoking)

Nice. Thanks for all the replies. My family was giving me a hard time that I never put my PV down. I didn't know if it was normal to constantly hit the thing, or if i really did need to go higher on my nic. Since I had been as high as 24mg, and it didn't help, I was afraid to go higher.

It does appear that chain vaping is normal; esp for those of us who were heavy smokers. I was a 3 pack a day kinda guy. I don't get cravings for it like I did a cigarette, and I can put it down when I have to. When I am home and off work, the thing almost never leaves my hand.
