Having been a reviewer in many forums on many other topics, I thought I'd give a shot at a review here...

Two weeks ago, I purchased my very first ecig....the NJoy NPro.

(Waiting for snickers and outright laughter from veterans to subside...OK...good, let's continue)...

As a completely new and uninformed user, I was able to purchase this little critter and start using it within a couple of hours. Had to charge that battery using my USB port, and I sat and watched that little LED waiting for it to turn gree.

AT LAST it was charged and ready! Yea! Or was it?

Why yes, yes it was. My first "puff" from it was very, very strange and seemed absolutely nothing like the 'real thing' to which I was accustomed. But I kept at it. And at it, and at it.

Today, I've ordered an upgrade...TWO WEEKS after purchasing the NPro. Why...because the NPro is not a good unit. Here's some lessons I'll share for anyone considering a purchase:

1) It's EXPENSIVE. It costs more in the convenience store or kiosk than some far superior brands cost online. I paid $90 for the 'starter kit' and 10 extra pre-filled cartridges. When you start looking at GOOD brands, you'll see that is an outrageous amount of money to spend on a PV.

2) The battery is pretty pathetic. The battery requires charging at least twice a day and it doesn't come with a spare. It takes approximately 2 hours to charge the battery each and every time.

3) Low vapor production. Yes, it produces vapor but requires some serious inhalation to get very much in return. I feel cheated every time I use it because I miss my smoke cloud. It requires such a strong inhale I have literally sucked the juice out of the cartridge several times...not too tasty.

4) The juice tastes like "________" (fill in the blank with something you don't like). It has a dusty, slightly sweet taste that is nothing like tobacco. And the only way to use these buggers is with NPro's prefilled cartridges.

Soooooo....do I regret buying the thing? Not at ALL. Because even though it isn't very good and the taste is strange it has still allowed me to cut my smoking in HALF during this time. I can breath better, I feel more alert, and regular cigs just don't taste that good to me anymore.

Would I recommend the NPro to a newbie? Absolutely NOT. Learn from my lesson and take the time to do some research to figure out what is right for YOU. It may take you a week, two weeks, or a month but in the long run an educated purchase is way better than an impulse purchase! Deal with reputable vendors, look for great deals, and get started on the right foot with vaping. I don't think you'll regret it at all and your lungs will thank you for it. :vapor:

I agree with the whole not regretting getting it. It was my first one too. It got me off analogs! I refilled my carts though with my OWN liquid.
When I bought an Npro I got mine for 30 bucks from a Pilot and it came with a battery, charger, and I think 3-5 cartridges. I dunno why ppl are paying so much for these... I got mine pretty cheap!

Yea, I've seen them for less since I bought mine, but I think the temptation is that it's right there in front of you at the time. For me, it was definitely an impulse purchase because I couldn't wait to get started.

Me too... definitely an impulse buy... but at 30 bucks I actually don't feel like it was THAT BAD of a mistake lol

If you compare the NPro with other e-cigs like the 'mini's', etc., you will find they are a step above those as far as reliability, quality. Do they compare as well to 510's? Don't know about that, never had one.
Yes, expensive to replace consumables, 2-3 hour battery, expensive pre-filled carts, yes to all that. But over time they have proved themselves in the top of their class. Replacement and customer service is A-1.
My first e-cig was an NPro, and I will forever be grateful for them! As 'bad' as it was I was able to stop smoking on day one.
I have since moved also to 801's (penstyle) for the cart size, but those batteries/atomizers proved expensive as well, although a little less expensive than NPro's. Then moved to a mod for extra battery life, (Janty Stick) and have saved a ton of money DIY my own juice. Many things have changed/improved/modified over time since the first e-cigs were made available. I still on occasion charge up my NPro batteries, to carry as a spare in my purse just in case. I have a couple times had need to use it!
Every e-cig made has at least one down-side. They are electronic devices after all.

Nena, I agree with your whole review. While awaiting my new eGo (which is awesome btw) I bought the NPro at the local Pilot truck stop. They have the what they call the NPro Xpress for $29. Not a big investment but the batt does need to be charged often and you must really pull hard for your vape. Its going in the emergency drawer now that I have my eGo.

OK now I understand "Pilot"...we don't have those truckstops around here (or I've never seen one) so I was a tad discombobulated as to what (or who) Pilot was...LOL! I bought mine at a convenience store...the ONLY place any where near here that sells them. The starter kit (battery, atomizer, USB charger and 4 prefilled carts) was $69.99 (yep...ouch) and the pack of 10 extra carts was $20. I am glad to see that they aren't that much across the country because it IS a good emergency PV to have around in case your others poop out.

It's not a HORRIBLE little thing....it's just that you can get a much better unit for the same or less money! And I'm sure there are FAR better tasting juices out there...I ordered some American Blend today too so I can't wait to get that with my new PV's!!

The npro was my first unit as well almost a year ago now. The day I got that thing (pilot truck stop no less) I was done smoking for good. After 25 years of smoking, one day with that unit did it for me. But I also discovered this forum a day later and realized there was a lot more to vaping than the npro.

I've since amassed quite a collection of gear and made my own mods even, but if it wasn't for those little gems I would still likely be smoking today.

One thing a lot of people don't know, the npro is actually a 4081 (or dse 103) atty, and that little bugger is actually quite good on a more robust battery. But you gotta drip to get the most out of it!

I just got my Riva in the mail and I'll do a write up on it in a few days after I really get the hang of it. But I will say it is produces enough vapor to look like a steam room, and the mint juice sample I got is awesome.

But I'll still always say "thanks" to NPro for my first attempt at vaping....it got me through the first few weeks just fine.
