I am really new to vaping (2 weeks) and am really enjoying it as an alternative to analogs. I have read other posts that strongly advise against writing to politicians and legislators to inquire about the interpretation of the clean air laws. I guess I still have a lot of that lingering smoker mentality though. What I mean is (for example) at my kids' football games, there is a rule that smokers need to go on the other side of the chain link fence to smoke and not smoke field-side. As much as I dislike being around the second-hand smoke while I vape, I have been going to that area to vape nonetheless just to not stir up waves. I'm curious as far as the state laws in NY go, would I be legally within my rights if I did choose to vape field-side instead of in the designated smoking area since I am not smoking, and not exposing others to second-hand smoke and carcinogens? Also, I have not dared to vape in a restaurant or store (because I still have that "I'll get in trouble" smoker mentality) but I am curious... Do the laws in NY state that I can't if I wanted to? Or is it legal to vape while grocery shopping for example? I don't want to do anything that will get me in trouble, nor do I want to create a bad image for the vaping community. Can someone provide some feedback on this?
