Very cool. Some of the stuff at 5 pointz is absolutely amazing. Not a big fan of the tagger - like stuff but some of the more "artistic" stuff was truly incredible. The hotel seems pretty nice too, especially the bar area.
5 Pointz is nothing short of amazing. The pictures don't do some of the pieces justice. So much work went into these things... and they only stay up for about
three months before they're pained over with new pieces. Tag artists work on the building every weekend, so it's an ever changing public gallery of incredible art. I feel like I got just as much out of visiting 5 Pointz as I did from going to the MoMA.
And yeah, the hotel was really great. We were apprehensive about not staying in Manhattan, but Z Hotel is just 12 minutes away from 53rd and Lexington by subway so it was virtually the same as being in midtown. Plus the view of the skyline was outstanding and the staff was really friendly. Z Hotel only just opened
three months ago so they were VERY eager to show their guests a good time. HIGHLY recommended if you're planning a trip to NYC.
Oh, and it's just a couple blocks away from Queensborough Houses, which is the projects where NAS and LL Cool J grew up. Ultra cool.
