ok, so i've been thinking about this one for a while and finally got it finished. i was shooting for a 18650 mod box that i could use with 18650 batts or cr123 just like my BSB

i took alot of pics during the build so that i could show the whole thing step by step. its the nicest mod i've done so far, loks great inside, vapes just like my BSB, and it wasn't that hard to do

so here it is:

this is the top cover of the box mod, the short posts were taken out with my dremel tool.

you can see the grinding spots where the other 2 short posts were

this is the start of the battery holder. this box from madvapes.com came with 2 sets of end plates, the thin ones i used to make this battery connector wall. this one had the same little short posts that the top did but i took all of them out. i didn't quite know how i was going to go about this and took one too many of the posts off. you can see on the one side of the wall where i had to add another post from something else(thats why its black)

i didn't have any battery terminals that i liked so i used this instead

heres what it will look like in the box

this is the center post for my 510 atty connector. this is how i've been soldering my 510 connectors. i remove the center post and the rubber gasket that holds it in. doing it this way keeps me from melting the gasket while trying to solder every thing together

here i just wanted to show all the atty pieces soldered and apart with my BSB

just install the center post the same way it was taken out

here's the beginnings of the battery holder portion of this mod. i've got my little wall built and secured, the switch is installed but not yet soldered. the negative side battery connection is installed and ready

now the 510 atty connector is placed in(not glued in yet) the positive battery connector is installed

here's the switch and the start of the safety switch hole.

now the safety switch is installed, time to get every thing soldered together

battery holder 6 by justbrewit, on Flickr

the safety switch hole isn't the prettiest but it works

every thing is soldered together and this is pretty much finished

Good job, and I liked the step by step. I have been wanting to make a mod for 18650 bat, I think i will try to copy yours. Thank you

the wifey is putting this through its 6v paces right now, she put the 2 cr123's in it about 30 mins ago. she's lovin it with a cardomizer and some raspberry pear juice i mixed up

wifey is my beta tester for all my mods, she tells me if they're crap or not, she bashes 'em around a bit(not on purpose, just clumsy) she killed the one i did with the multicolor led, and now i'm finding it very difficult to dig my parts out of that darn epoxy lol

Very nice job.

if anyone knows where to find a box like this but 1.5 inches shorter please let me know.

thanks

not sure about where to get a shorter one though. i got this from madvapes, i get most of my stuff for modding from them, great service and they fix problems if they happen!

she's been vaping it at 6v all day and most of yesterday, only trouble she's had with it is the switch every so often doesn't make contact. might have to put a different one in there.
Those Li-PO's with a Joye 510 will actually vape at around 5V and within about a half hour will be in the high 4V range.

Get yourself a decent switch, the style you've chosen can be found for about 30¢. The top section has room for almost any one you'd like.

If you want to buy locally this RS one is decent.
