I got some Liptons teabags from Tesco, and they smell really nice! Is it OK to make a brew with them before you use them in your carts? Obviously, I would wash them first.

I made a point of looking for these in ASDA earlier while I was shopping. Sure enough they have 2 varieties, Strawberry and Cranberry or Ginger and something else. I think they were about £1.38 or something.

I bought mine from Asda. I have heard that you can use the tea first, just let it dry out again after. Haven't tried that myself though.
If they aren't absorbant like paper, then you could probably rinse them out after use.

They are fantastic. I can tell you that. They work SO much better for the 510 and 901's that I have.

Thanks for the advice everyone. By the way, they are only 98p for 20 in Tescos. I used the teabag carts for the first time yesterday and was very impressed! We went to local music festival for the day so I took 2 spare carts with me. I used it all day and didn't even have to change the cart.

mmm, quite good so far, dont know yet if its any better though, mabee tetley might work better
If tetley are normal papery bags then I liked them to start with. But they just tended to hold onto the juice. So after the initial fill they only take a drop or two at a time.

I checked Moobyghost's video to see the tea bag and after that I was sure, it's not the same. The one in the video is more translucent and all, mine is papery feeling and looking.
So, are your teabags actually the same material as the US ones?

Yes the ones we get in the UK are the glossy non-paper ones. You need to look for Liptons "Infusions".

The ones I have are Lipton Infusions but they certainly are not glossy. And the package looks a bit different from the ones you have.

I was thinking the same thing Poldara. While the tbags that I have (Liptons Infusions) are definitely different to the usual tbag material they do look different from those I've seen used in the US demo videos. They're not quite as 'plastic' looking.
Still, I've been using (and re-using) them and they seem to be working fine.
