Yep Mother Nature has it down, except for humans. I still don't understand why anyone can have a baby but needs a license to get married and drive.

Lady Eleanor if it makes you feel better Lions are only part cat.... They're the only feline species that doesn't fit the usual cat mold skeletal wise, and they can get K9 distemper....

Really? I did not know that!

Of course, lions are also "outliers" in the cat world in terms of their social life/group organization and hunting methods; all other cats I can think of are strictly loners.

My favorite big cats are cheetahs, so fast and very good parents! For some horrible reason lions like to kill cheetahs whenever they can, even though they don't compete for the same food. I like lions but consider them bullies too.
