Oakwood Flavourart

I just got some Oakwood Flavourart from FreedomSmokeUSA and this stuff is good! The flavoring itself smells exactly like freshly cut oak. I'm using about 3 drops per ml and it tastes just about right.

I new to DIY, though, and I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions on anything to add to it to make it even better.

Hey Cyberwolf...I've been using all the FA Concentrates, and LOVE them as well...I find a blend of 80/20 PG to VG is perfect for all their tobacco blends. The amount of drops greatly depends on which flavoring...for example, Latakia, Desert Ship, Barley all do quite nicely with 7 drops per 10ml. Next, depending on how earthy and dry you find the flavoring Ethyl Maltol is a must to wet the pallet. Purchase the EM In Crystal Form from the Perfumer's Apprentice...If you you have any ?'s, Call Linda the owner...she is exceptional! Once you have the Crytals, take a 1/4 teaspoon of the Crystals, and add them to 10ml PG...now you'll have a nice, fresh concentrate to add drops to your mixes. depending on how Earthy your flavorings are, I've been starting with a drop to a drop and a half per ml...Also, while you're at it, pick up some vape Wizard from FlavourArt and add 2 drops per 10ml...This should make you quite happy ; )

Remember, always let your mixes sit in a cool dark place for 24hrs or so to let you know their true state!

One more thing...to completely saturate the EM/PG Concentrate, run the bottle under hot water and shake like hell intermittently...it should look like reg. old PG with no settlement!

Thanks for the info. I got some of the EM crystals from OneStopDIYShop and mixed it per their instructions, which was exactly the way you mentioned. That mixture has really worked well with Dark Vapure and Mellow Sunset mixtures. I'll have to try it with the oakwood.

The Oakwood works well with FA tobacco flavorings such as Burley, where it reduces the floral taste. Never tried it as a stand-alone flavor.

It might also be combined with a liquor flavor such as brandy or whisky.

Whenever I make a TA tobacco base mixture (see how to elsewhere on this forum) for my cocoa and coffee flavors, I always add a couple drops oakwood for every 10ml. Seems to cut down on the greeness of the TA and increases the throat hit a bit.

Mixing it with the FA Cherry also makes a pretty neat cherrywood vape (4 drops cherry/five drops oakwood/5ml whatever PG-VG-Nic base you like).
