Although I like Obama and it's comforting to know he gets it being a smoker and all, I think a politician is a politician is a politician. Once the lobbyists get hold of this and the $$$$ is flashed, he'll side with them.

I'm waiting for the first report to come out (backed by PM of course) saying how dangerous this is and it should be illegal. I'm trying to get enough non-smoking time under my belt for when that happens. Hopefully I can remain a non-smoker.

Someone should send him Steves card!

There was another US president who was a smoker. He was pressed to start a brutal embargo against Cuba, his favourite cigar manufacturer. Did he oppose the lobbyists? No. He just bought a huuuuge stash of Cuban cigars immediately before applying the embargo. Thought it would last him all life. It did, actually. Somebody shot him a bit later ;)

Morale of the story: Laws do not apply to top politicians. They are not afraid of banning something they like, because they know they will still have anything they ***ing want.

In a house.
He does smoke and has said he's trying to quit but if he wants a cigarette he will smoke away quite happy in the White House or wherever he is.
The Smoking Ban only applies to us Drones.
There are 4 big Smoking rooms in the House of Commons in the UK for MP's to smoke when they feel like it.
One Law for the Rich and another for the Poor just like it's always been.

Obama is a smoker, if this whole thing comes to a head, you can be assured that Barack Obama will be on our side. The question is, which supplier will get an e-cig in his hands first.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. Obama quit smoking to run for President. He used Nicorette gum. I love the hope he brings, but do not expect him to be a friend of smokers. Few ex-smokers are.

When legislation reaches his desk to further tax, regulate, strangle tobacco and smoking, he will sign it.

It is simply unthinkable that an American President would puff a Chinese pretend cigarette. No one can be serious about this prospect ...

To be perfectly correct, he has "quit" smoking but has has "fallen off of the wagon" several times. He said as much in an interview. =)

I think we might have a friend in him.

He sorta quit. He admitted to grabbing one here and there on the campaign trail. He had to admit to it because he bummed them from other people. :p

I wouldn't send him a kit. I'm sure the Secret Service would promptly chuck it in the trash, if not come knocking on your door for doing it.

They even say on change.gov that only #10 envelopes are accepted and any packages will be returned to sender. =( Or else I would mail him one!

I'd bet this way: President Obama will never voice support for e-smoking. He will never practice e-smoking. He would never acknowledge a "gift" e-cig.

A white tube from China that makes vapor? The President of the United States "smoking" it? Unthinkable. He might sneak a real smoke, but don't count on him sneaking an e-puff and spreading the happy word.

May I be proven wrong over the next four years.

Bob, I must say I do worry about you. I know every social environment needs a "voice of reason", but you can let someone else take the baton for a while :) We would all love to see you happy and join in with our merriment, if only to keep you sane from al of the negativity. (apologies beforehand, I have a degree in psychology!)

Yes there is a chance that -if Obama even gets the word- he would not become our poster boy, but there is also a chance that he could try it, like it, maybe keep it private, but word would get out.

Obama's message is hope, and so is mine =)

Kaston, I'm currently a happy e-smoker. Really, I am. We all have only today to live, so I'm enjoying it. But not to look ahead and read the signs is to stick one's head in the sand. I don't care how distressing the future might be. I want to see it. I want to prepare myself mentally and physically for it. I want intelligent discussion with knowledgeable peers about it.

The future needs more than hope. Much, much more. And silliness like getting Obama to e-smoke will not help anyone except the dreamer.

I'll try to find more useful threads now and will post no more here. This thread is misplaced anyhow. This is not about suppliers; more community discussion, a place that has already driven away some of this forum's best contributors because of the vitrol and ignorance that has been posted.

TB, that was kind of harsh but I suppose you, like the rest of us, have every right to say it.

Honestly though, you had to know this day was coming soon. These gadgets are becoming more and more popular everyday so that means an even bigger, more diverse crowd will be infiltrating this holy forum very soon. So, here's your heads up now: "More Ignorance and Vitrol is coming."

Kaston, keep your head in the sand (I mean that in the nicest way). TB, keep you head up and on the lookout. There are two different people in this world: those that live day to day and those that live only for tomorrow. I choose the former. The future is almost always dismal when you're looking for it.

Oh and TB, I have to agree. I feel many of the best contributors to this forum have left or have gone silent. I can't say for sure it's because of "vitrol and ignorance" but it saddens me nonetheless.

Best wishes to all.

Foxy

"Young People think Old People are fools but
Old People Know Young People are fools."

I do so hope that Obama is the Great and Good President that you believe him to be.

Unfortunately he is Politician and cannot act on his own.

Our Generation had a President that we felt the same about.
He was JFK but he turned out to be a very different person than his Public profile would have us believe.

I have heard Obama say a lot of things.
Lets wait and see what Action's he takes. Also remember there are many other issues he has to address.
They may be a bit Higher Priority.
I think saving his Country from a Great Depression, Dealing with the Very Dangerous situation in the Middle East, Dealing with Russia etc etc, Oh yes and The imminent Destruction of the Planet by Global Warming might be uppermost in his mind.

Please remember he will be President and if he want's to smoke he will have his Favourite Brand delivered directly to the White House along with any other drug he may or may not use.(as did JFK and every other President before and after.
