I can only hope that he will put some actual thought into it and see it as a safer substitute and realize that thousands of us are using it instead of poisoning ourselves with analogs. Well, hope and write a letter. I wrote both of my Senators in Virginia today about how the PACT act could directly affect our FREEDOM to choose a safer alternative should the FDA deem e-cigs a tobacco product due to the nicotine being extracted from tobacco.

Are you all giving E-Cigs a voice too, or just talking on forums your politicians will never lay eyes on before voting? :)

Fight the ban.

Sending anything to the Prez would probably be pointless. The Secret Service would probably take the package and dispose of it without him even seeing it.

"Uhhh sir, I got a box here that's addressed to the President with a metal box filled with batteries, tiny wiring, and its attached to a liquid filled capsule".......it'll probably end up in a bomb disposal tub.

Even if it didn't, it would probably end up destroyed by whatever process they use to make sure it doesn't contain something bad.

Besides, if you want to impress a politician it better have a million dollar "campaign contribution" check attached.

The fda is not and should not be compared to nazis. Only ruthless murders with bigoted ideals should be compared to nazis. The fda is like a pendulum, a force is applied to one side and the fda swings a certian way. Its out of control organizations like ash.org that are pushing around the fda. What the vaping community needs is an equal or stronger force pushing back.
I'm not cynical enough to believe that educating the public is pointless. When two lawyers are arguing in court and one gives misinformation what should the other lawyer do? Call the lawyer a nazi? Yell out america has lost its freedom?

My thoughts exactly. You could send him homemade chocolate chip cookies and the secret service would never let em get close enough to him that he would even have the chance to eat one! (And understandably so for that matter) And while I do believe it possible that he may try vaping of his own accord (based upon the fact that he is a smoker) and probably be as impressed as most of us...he would NEVER let it be known much less support it openly. It would open up a can of media-related worms than any one of his advisers would strongly discourage. Best we could hope for is a back door mention to the FDA that, after his own battles with nicotine addiction, he'd like to see them study the issue thoroughly. Either way we'd never know!

Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-Fla.) has given one to his son and one to House Minority Leader John Boehner (the Ohio Republican is a hard-core smoker). Stearns even offered this bipartisan peace pipe: “I am going to send a package to President Barack Obama to help him quit or meet with him and enjoy a harmless, carcinogen-free smoke.”

If he does endorse e-cigs, you'll have a bunch of crackpots wailing and gnashing their teeth, adamantly insisting the government is going to force tobacco farmers to give up their land on the basis of eminent domain; all newly-manufactured e-cigs will come equipped with a GPS tracking device and bioelectronic remote sensors which instantly fubar the user at the first sign of dissidence, and government-run death panels will green light euthanasia for anyone stricken with terminal smoking-related illness; thereafter the corpses will be reanimated with aforementioned bioelectronic circuitry, forming an undead Federal AmeriStasi cyber army of Socialist zombie skullf%*!!@ers.

And if he opposes e-cigs, we'll all vote for Palin in 2012.
I wouldn't vote for Palin if he outlawed e cigs AND analogs!
