So ive been vaping for a while and just recently bought a new clearomizer, i can always remember having occasional problems with harsh hits and slight 'plasticcy' tastes with hits but not to this extent, i sometimes get good weighty vape hits which taste good and arent too harsh but sometimes there is little vapour and is very harsh on my throat and also i have hits which taste kind of like burnt plastic, i havent over filled it and i havent used it too much so i wouldnt think that it needs cleaning ive heard of trimming a little off the rubber cover that goes over the metal shaft in the middle of the clearomizer however mine has a little metal tip instead of it being rubber ive also tried swapping that for a different rubber cover with no luck.
Im not too sure what model it is but it cost me around £20 and it has a little logo of a shisha on it, pretty sure its eshisha or something along those lines
Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Yeah i did a bit of looking up and out about the dry hit and looked at many solutions and none of them really helped but ive just swapped over to some old e-juice i have left and it seems to have solved the issue so it might have been the liquid just out of curiosity ive seen people mention pg and i think hg juice in the forums? they have little question mark on them but im not able to click them so im not sure if they're meant to have a definition pop up or im just not looking in the right place lol but is that propylene glycol and a different glycol? if so then im thinking maybe its the pg juice that might be giving the dry hits

pg is propylene glycol, the other is vg which is vegetable glycol.

PG is thiner and wicks better but does not create alot of vapor.

VG creates a lot of vapor but is thick and often doesnt wick well in cartos or clearos.

It sounds like you have a heavy VG juice and your wicks cant pull enough of it and its created a dry hit.

If you can, check the PG/VG ratio and when you are shopping for more, make sure to ask what the blend is and figure out what works best in your set up!!

It is actually vegetable glycerin.

To the OP, as for the ratios, in a tank/clearo set-up, most folks prefer anywhere from a 60/40 (pg/vg) to a 50/50 mix, but that can vary depending on your tastes. A higher VG will require you to change or rebuild your coils more often.

I used to have leaks on EVODs so I did this:

Then I got a tank that had the same coils and used the same method to prevent leaking. No leaks but it tasted like crap. I removed the coils and the wicks were dry. The tank air tube was longer so it really put the silicone cap blocking the liquid.

To solve one problem I caused another. :(
