So I had the coolest idea for a working octo coil system in nimbus style atomiers involving four dual coils in series running in parallel. Today I finished a proof of concept. Using two posts, here is a quad coil set up running at 1.5 ohms firing at 10 watts. With three posts, this could easily be eight coils at 0.75 ohms (11.2 amps running on stacked batteries)

The setup and pictures are super messy and done quick so I didnt really bother to get the coils running perfectly together (I dont have a nimbus style device so meh) But you can see them all firing. IMG_20130602_190737.jpgIMG_20130602_190840.jpg
Also they are sideways aparently >.>

Congrats. How much juice does that use though?

I once saw a Datsun 280z with an inline 6 cylinder engine that had 3 separate dual barrel carbs on it. Yes, that is 1 barrel per cylinder dumping gas into that beast! Thing was fast. So fast it could pass anything on the road except a gas station. For some reason I feel this may apply to your new setup.

Rofl! well i got about 30 min of clouds off 5 drips having about 4-5 vapes every 5 minutes ish. Thats not bad. I've only gone through about 5 ml of gummy blood on my other quad coil over two days though. So I would say its pretty fuel efficient!

I'm going to try for a septuple coil setup after I get bored of this one and I'll report findings :p

You definitely want to double- and triple--check your math to make sure you've got the amperage load worked out correctly. Too many amps draw will ruin your battery, and not in a pretty way.

Seems like you've done your homework, just wanted to remind some of the other folks watching this thread that this is not a "beginner" project, and something that requires a LOT of calculation and safeguards to try and avoid a potential catastrophic battery failure...

Lol i dont know if you can market a coil wrap design. But i do have a secret technique for wrapping the coils tightly >.>. If i can market it, that would be cool though rofl.

Also yeah. It would probably be a good idea to know what you're doing if you attempt this. I have an order from fast tech for some nimbus style clones and i'll be setting this up as soon as possible.

For now, i'm pretty sure i could fit 6 vertical coils in a phoenix v1 and i might try to do that tonight. I really should get some of those 20 amp batteries. But for now i'm definitely keeping the drain under 15 amps max on some orbtronics.

Honestly now that i think about it, if the septuple setup does work with two posts, then you could max out a nimbus style with 12 coils >.> Which might be overkill, even for me. and even with this design the ohms would probably work out to 0.2ohms. On stacked batteries at 8.4 (which would be absolutely necessary) that would be 42 amps >.>. Though this might be possible with two stacks of two batteries running in parallel, I don't think this is in any way necessary lol.

Also i dont know if the middle post hole would even have enough room for 6 wires rofl!
