So I finally ordered an Ego. Took advantage of the Puresmoker deal.... unfortunately they only had red. So, Ive decided to take advantage of my fancy MFA degree and redesign/'art out' the external casing of my battery via paint, encostics, liquid metal or whatever else may work.

I just ordered it yesterday and Im an impatient person when it comes to art. My question is, does anyone happen to know what the outer casing of the red Ego is made of? i.e. foam, rubber, plastic, metal/steel, enamal?

if not, thats fine. I just figured I would get a jump start on my sketches and would like to know what material/medium I may be working with.

Thanks all in advance :D

I use the Yeti (a 510). It is made out of what I believe to be stainless steel that is painted. I say this, because I had a few scratches in mine and cleaned it in Everclear (190 proof) - stripped the paint right off!

A stripped down 510 atty (no wires, heat coil, wick, etc) with only a few inner spacers left in it is slightly magnetic. It is also much harder than aluminum is.

I did a quick search to see what I could find, there is a stainless e-go available, and I would think the rest of them would also be stainless with paint on for the color.

Good luck!

'vapable work of art' I like the sound of that! I figure, so long as random people ask me about my ecig 4x a day, I minus well sale my art style/work/self at the same time. heh.

'It's powder coated stainless steel... It eventually comes off on it's own' This is fantastic info! I wouldn't want to create something that wont last.

I fully intend on after shots being posted. If I find a workable and lasting method I wouldn't mind creating some work for other forum folk here. Publicity in any form is always welcome when you're an artist hehe
